Wishing you a Happy Birthday ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Inky Impressions Inspirational Blog today.

My great-niece is turning 3 soon, and I decided to make a card for her using the lovely Shamrocks Lili. I cropped the image to use just her face, colored her with my Copic Markers, fussy cut her out, and layered her on a couple of pierced squares. The sentiment is part of the MFT LJD Spring Tulips stamp set, and was perfect for today's card. My design was inspired by a couple of challenges (listed below).

Make sure you Hop on over to the Inky Impressions Store to check out all of the awesome images available.

Just a Note ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Art by Miran Blog today. Our "Theme" this month is to create a Clean and Simple (CAS) project. If you are a follower of my blog you know this is a favorite of mine!

This lovely is called April's Rain! She is such a sweet image, and I truly had an awesome time coloring her up. Once done, I fussy cut her out so I could pop part of her up. After adding the dots around the image, I added the sentiment along the bottom and then used a ruler and Multi-Liner Pen to draw the border.

This card is another addition to my box of cards for Operation Write Home.

MFT Lighthouses ...

Good evening. This is my 2nd post today so please scroll down to see my Inky Impressions Release Post.

After getting my laundry started today I cleaned up my craft area since they share the same room. Once the cleaning was done I decided to create some cards for Operation Write Home, and used the current MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch #215 as my inspiration.

Card #1 ...

Your Love Lights the Way
Card #2 ...

You Light up My Life
I used the MFT Lighthouses stamp set to create both cards. I bought the set last year with OWH in mind to create masculine cards. I looked in the MFT store to link the set, but it looks like it might be a discontinued item. The colors aren't exactly masculine. However, I love this combination of MFT Wild Cherry and Lemon Drop.

My coloring medium today is a combination of Faber-Castell Gelatos and Art Grip Aquarelle Pencils. One was colored just with the Gelatos. After stamping the lighthouse with Stazon Black Ink onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper, I applied my coloring medium and then used water to blend it all together. Once done, each image was cut out with my Nestabilities Circles die and layered on Bazzill Blue cardstock that was cut out with my Nestabilities Petite Scallop Circles die.

I used 2 of the sentiments from the set and stamped them on Glasine Paper using the Stazon Black Ink. Once done, they were cut out with my MFT Horizontal Stitched Strips Die-Namics, and poped on using either foam tape or Pop Up Glue Dots. I added YNS Gumdrops to cover the adhesive.

Now how about a look at the sketch ...

I appreciate you stopping by today.
Until next time ... Enjoy!

Be My Valentine ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Inky Impressions Inspirational Blog today, and since today is February 14th ... a/k/a Valentine's Day ... I decided to make a Valentine's Day card for my husband.

I love playing along with sketches and when I saw the current CAS(E) this Sketch I knew it was perfect. I have these beautiful Valentine's DP from MME that were calling me. I used my Heart Die to cut out the heart with rays and layered it on white cardstock which I then popped onto my card base. For the sentiment I pulled up two copies of the Valentine Sentiment Set in a word document and cropped the sentiments to bring them into a line verses on top of each other. I then cut the sentiment into an arrow and used 3D tape to adhere the arrow pointing to the heart.

I really love how this card is simple but elegant. Here's a look at all the sentiments in the set.

Make sure you Hop on over to the Inky Impressions Store to check out all of the awesome images available.
