Great Impressions February Challenge ...

Good morning! We have a new Challenge starting today over at the Great Impressions BlogThis month our challenge is called "Let's Celebrate (Any Celebration)". The perfect theme as we Celebrate Super Bowl Sunday here in the US.

I created a Birthday Card for this month's challenge. My family is not only Celebrating Super Bowl Sunday here in the US, but we are also Celebrating my Father-in-Law's 80th Birthday today. This is the card I made for him.

My card features the adorable Seashore Buddies G488 and Happy Birthday Sentiment (B247). I had an awesome time coloring up the Seashore Buddies with my Copic Markers, and did a bit of paper-piecing to add dimension to the stamped image. A bit of distress ink was applied behind the seagull which adds a bit more dimension to my stamped design.

Make sure you head on over to the Great Impressions Challenge Blog to see what the other Designer's created, and for all of the details on how you can WIN this lovely collection of Great Impressions Stamps! If you use our Great Impressions Stamps remember to link them up in our Customer Gallery.

Valentine Matchbook's ...

Good morning! I'm over on the GI Blog today sharing some Valentine Matchbook's featuring the F626 Swirly Valentines stamp available at Great Impressions Stamps.

I love making Valentine's for my daughter to hand out to her peers, and these Valentine Matchbook's are perfect and so easy to make.  All you need to do is measure the length of your candy treat, double the length and add room for the bottom and fold on top, then add about 1/4" to the width of the treat, fold and presto you are done. Not really. :-D

I then used my Tim Holtz Tiny Stapler to staple the bottom part of the treat into the Matchbook. Make sure if you try this idea out that you staple close to the bottom edge so you can tuck the flap into the Matchbook.

Since I used red cardstock for the base, I added a white strip for my sentiment and some washi-tape along the bottom to cover the staples.

Here is a picture of the inside treat ...

and then a side view ...

Photo Album Home Decor ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing how to turn an Envelope Photo Album into Home Decor that I created for CutCardStock using Royal Linen Eclipse Black Cardstock, Brown Bag Kraft Envelopes, Brown Bag Invitations, Basic Grey Magnetic Discs, and 4/8" Navy Sheer Organza Ribbon.

I love checking out YouTube video's for inspiration, and today's project was inspired by an Envelope Mini-Book. The following photo's contain the instruction I created, based on the video, to create my Photo Album / Centerpiece.

Envelope Mini-Book

I loved creating today's project, and think it would be cool to make one for each of the Seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) so you can display some of your favorite photo's through out the year. Adding the magnets to the album makes it close for easy storage.

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial, and that you give this technique a try!
All of the items listed above, except for the Design Paper that I picked up on sale at Michael's, can be found at CutCardStock, and make sure you check out the Classic Crest and Classic Linen Cardstock which is currently on Sale.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Onesies Baby Shower card ...

Good morning! It's the first of the month, and that means it's time for a New Challenge over at the House of CardsThis month's Challenge is a Word Challenge ... Shape Up.

I made a couple of Onesies Baby Shower cards to share with you today.

Knowing that my husband's cousin is going to be a grandfather soon, I couldn't resist picking up the MFT Baby Onesies Die and the MFT LJD Beautiful Baby stamp set for the occasion.

The first card opens at the top. The base of the card is made with Papertry Ink Vintage Cream cardstock with AMS Pistachio as the onesie.  I stamped one of the elephants from the stamp set with Memento Bamboo Leaves, added the sentiment and some Zva Pearls for the snaps.

The second card opens from the side. I used the same cardstock for the base and onesie, but added a layer of CCS Navy Basis cardstock in between. For the cover I used a Heidi Swap stencil and Memento Summer Sky ink with a dauber, then added the sentiment in Memento Danube Blue, and used Royal Blue Liquid Pearls for the snaps. On the inside I used both of the star stamps from the set to continue to design from the cover.

These were so fun to make, and now I'm ahead of the game for the Baby Shower later this month. One card to go with my gift and one for my daughter's gift.

Make sure you hop on over to the House of Cards Challenge Blog for all of the details for entering our Monthly Challenge. I can't wait to see what inspires you this month!

You're on my Mind ...

Good morning! I'm over on the GI Blog sharing a A1 Note Card featuring some of the stamps available from Great Impressions Stamps.

Today's card features the lovely Ocean Dreams (F366) and On My Mind Sentiment (D498). Copic Markers were used to color Ocean Dreams with a bit of distress ink for the sky, and your panel is complete. I went with bright cheerful colors for the background.

I really love the combination of these two stamps, and they are perfect for letting a friend or loved one know that they are On Your Mind.

Here's a closer look at the Ocean Dreams ...
