A Best Friend is a ...

Good morning! I'm proud to announce that I was invited to join the Rubbernecker Stamps Design Team, and today I am sharing my first card as a Designer.

These lovely girls are Best Friends (727-01), and I had a great time playing with them. It has been a while since I picked up my Copic Markers so I decided to combine coloring and paper-piecing for these lovely girls.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink I stamped Best Friends on white cardstock and on DP. Copic Markers were used to color the skin, hair and the purple part of one of the outfits (as shown above). I did a LOT of fussy cutting for this one, ran the clothes thru my Xyron Sticker Maker, and paper-pieced the clothes back on the Best Friends.

I stamped the freehand circle from the Freehand Border Phrase Set 900 over one of the Best Friends image previous stamped, cut it out with my Nestabilities Circle Die, did a bit more paper-piecing with the Best Friends image, and layered it on the background I created.

A sentiment was needed to finish off my card and I chose Destiny (504-04). This sentiment is one of many available at Rubbernecker Stamps that are a perfect match for the Best Friends image.

Good friends ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a friendship card featuring the beautiful Good Friends Sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps

The Good Friends Sentiment was stamped on Watercolor Paper with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink which I colored with Marvey Markers, pallet, water and a paintbrush. Once done, the panel was cut out with my MFT pierced rectangular die. I also used the die on some red and green scraps. All of the panels where crisscrossed and layered on white cardstock. I added black rhinestones to each corner, and then created faux piercing in between the rhinestones.

Thank you ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a Thank you card featuring the beautiful Rose Trio and Being You Sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps

I love roses, and couldn't resist creating a card that features the beautiful Rose Trio. I stamped the Rose Trio twice on Watercolor Paper with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink, then colored the roses with my Marvey Markers, pallet, water and paintbrush. I then added the Being You Sentiment and applied color around the sentiment and roses with distress ink, with the final step I added dots around the flowers, and added my panel to a cream card.

Black and White Lighthouses ...

Good morning. I hope everyone had a Safe, Fun and Happy time celebrating our Independence Day in the US.

I was a Spotlight Designer over at Crafty By Designs Challenge Blog in May, and was invited to be a Guest Designer for an upcoming Challenge, and this is my week.

The Challenge runs from July 6th - July 12th, and the "Theme" is Black and White.

This is one of my favorite challenges.

I pulled out my Guiding Lights stamp and coordinating dies from Papertry Ink for today's card. Using the dies I cut out the lighthouses and stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I then cut the white cardstock on an angle for the panel and layered it on my black cardbase. Next I stamped the sentiment and seagulls, and popped the lighthouse on with 3D Foam Squares. Final step was to add a SRM Sticker border under the sentiment.

I had fun creating my card for the Black & White Challenge. Make sure you head on over to Crafty By Designs Challenge Blog for all of the Challenge detail.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Relax .. Unwind ...

~ Happy 4th of July to all of my US Followers ~

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a FUN card featuring the adorable Beachy Penguins and State of Mind Sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps.

These Beachy Penguins are so adorable I couldn't resist playing with them. I stamped the penguins a couple of times on white cardstock and DP to do a little paper-piecing. The rest was colored with Copic Markers, and Distress Ink was used to create the sky and color in the sand. Circle Nestabilities dies were used to frame the main image of the penguins prior to paper-piecing. Next I popped the cut-out panel onto my background with 3D Foam Tape. After adding the State of Mind Sentiment on the bottom I created the sandy texture with Distress Ink and a dauber. The final step was to add 3D Crystal Lacquer to the glasses.
