Happy Summer Days ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Great Impressions Blog today featuring the Summer Days (D354) sentiment and Surf Boards (F476) stamps.

I did something a little different for this weeks project. First my card is 5" x 7-1/2". Second, my medium for coloring the images are watercolor markers, distress ink, gelatos, and a paint brush with water.

To start I colored the stamps with markers and stamped the images, and then I used a paint brush and water to move the ink around to get the watercolor look. I then put some colors on a palette and used a paint brush and water to create the shading around the images.

My design was inspired by the Sweet Sunday Sketch #283.

Here's another look at the Summer Days (D354) and Surf Boards (F476) stamps before I added them to my card ...

Garden Scene ...

Good morning and Happy Monday! I'm popping in this morning to share a card I made this weekend using some NEW goodies I picked up at the Scrapbook Expo show in Schaumburg, IL on Friday.

While at the show I had the pleasure of watching a very talented lady watercolor a scene at the Art Impressions Booth. I fell in love with the technique and wanted to give it a try, so I picked up several stamp sets, the Ai Watercolor Mini Project Series Accessory Kit, and some LePlume II Markers.

This is the second scene I created with the products I purchased; the first one still needs a little work. I kept thinking about what I saw while at the show, and just started stamping and coloring.

Stamps used for this card are from the following set(s) ... WC EZ Project A (4271), WC Flower Set (4052), and WC Foliage Set 2 (4270).

This was a LOT of fun to create, and I plan on making a set of cards for an awesome lady. However, I think before I start on the set I will watch the How to Watercolor DVD I received from Ai.

I appreciate your stopping by today, and enjoy reading your lovely comments! Hope you have an amazing week.

Witching you a ...

Good Morning. I'm back today to share with you my designs featuring MHK Designs Digital Stamps.

Today's card features an awesome Halloween set called Flight By Night Stamp Set. I brought the image and sentiment into a word document, aligned the sentiment in the position desired, added a couple extra images, and hit print.

Once printed, I cut my design down to size, colored the background with several Faber-Castell Gelatos. I also colored the moon from one of the extra image(s) with Gelatos, and cut it out. Next up, I fussy cut the Witch and Bat from another copy of the image. After I layered my design on the black cardbase, I paper-pieced the colored moon along with the Witch and Bat using various mediums to create a 3D effect. the Final step was to add the eyes with a Clear Star Jelly Roll Pen.

Birdie Friends Hello ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Great Impressions Blog today.

I really love the sweet Birdie Friends (G525). They are so happy and having FUN hanging out together. I truly enjoyed coloring the friends with my Copic Markers, and love that I was able to do some fussy cutting to make them look like they were truly sitting and hanging off of the branch.

I embossed the top half off the cardstock, added a strip of ribbon, stamped the Hello from the Hello Friends (B152) Sentiment, layered the friends on top, and put it all on my cardbase.
