Thank you for stopping by.

Holiday Gift - Note Cards

I always make something by hand for my friend Donna, for Christmas.  This year I decided to make some note cards for her.  She is a big "Cat" lover so I used the cat from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the 'Burbs for her cards.

I only made four (4) cards to add to some that I already made.  Now she has a variety of 12-note cards for her use.  I also stamped the cat and wording on the coordinating envelopes.

I then made a card from me personally to send with the gift.

Products used ...
  • Cardstock:  Halcraft Blank Greeting Cards - Orchid, MFT Paper, and some scrap pink [for squares]
  • Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Critters in the 'Burbs and Studio 112 You are a True Friend
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic Markers
  • Ribbon:  Paper Studio 5/8" Ribbon - Pink/Black (#891036)
  • Tools:  Cuttlebug Postage Stamp Die Cut, Adhesive
I love to hear what you think of my designs, so please leave a comment. Thank you for stopping by.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C67 and OTWC Inspiration Color Challenge #38

I really like the design for the Crazy 4 Challenge C4C67, and planned to enter a card.  Then I saw the Off the Wall Craftiness Inspiration Color Challenge #38 and decided to combine the two challenges.  To see the rules of each challenge please click on the links in this paragraph. Here is what the challenges look like.

Crazy 4 Challenge

OTWC Inspiration Color Challenge #38

I made several slightly different versions of the same card.  The actual card is either Burgundy or Forest Green.  I used a pink background for 3 of the cards, and left the 4th card with just the base color.  The only difference between the cards is the direction I took with the ribbons along the top of the card. The decorative circles were cut from this years DCWV Christmas Combo Pack, and I used the decorative square punch on the decorative red cardstock from the same pack.  The green square were made with my Postage Stamp Die Cut.
Here is a group photo of three of the cards together.

Now here are pictures of the individual cards ...

OTWC Inspiration Color Challenge #37, and RI Sketch Challenge D1510 (2)

Here is the second card I created for the challenges.  To see the first card I created GO HERE!
I bought the Unity Stamp set used for this card about a month ago.  I saw it and just knew I had to make a card for my hubby with this card. The sentiment just hit me as being so perfect for us.  After coloring the stamp with copic markers I added a little dimension with stickles and a gem in the center of the umbrella.

Here is a close up of the umbrella.

Products Used ...
  • Cardstock:  Bazzill Basics – Classic Magenta, Frosted Pink, Sweetheart and Intense Pink, and White
  • Stamps:  Unity Stamps  Rain or Shine Set
  • Inks:  Memento Onyx Black, , Lavender Stickles, Darice Self-Stick 5mm Round Gem, and Copic Markers.
  • Tools:  CM Cutting System Large Oval, Martha Stewart Double Loop Corner Punch
I love hearing what you think of my designs so please leave a comment below.  Thank you for stopping by.

OTWC Inspiration Color Challenge #37 & RI Sketch Challenge D1510

When I was at Archiver’s the other day I picked up a variety of pink cardstock in anticipation of making a Valentine’s Day Card for the OTWC Inspiration Color Challenge.   Then I saw the Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge and I just knew I could create a card for both challenges.

I created two (2) cards for the challenges.

The first card is “I made a WISH & YOU came true”.  The sentiment goes perfect with the well.

After stamping the well and coloring it with copic markers it looked like something was missing.  So I used the stickles over the hearts at the base of the well, and on the hearts on the corners of the card.  The blueness of the sky was created with Tim Holz’s Faded Jeans Distress Ink, and then I used the Tim Holz applicator to blend the Green Chalk into the grass.  Here is a close up of the wishing well.

Products Used ...
  • Cardstock:  Bazzill Basics – Classic Magenta, Frosted Pink, Sweetheart and Intense Pink, and White
  • Stamps:  Gina K Designs Heartily Yours Set
  • Inks:  Memento Onyx Black, TH Faded Jeans Distress Ink, Studio G Chalk – Green, X-Mas Red and Cotton Candy Stickles, and Copic Markers.
  • Tools:  CM Cutting System Large Oval
My second card will be posted shortly.
I love hearing what you think of my designs so please leave a comment below.  Thank you for stopping by.

DeNami Product Challenge #5

I thought I was done with my Christmas Cards.  I was sooo wrong, I still needed 2-more cards.  Since the temperature here in northern Illinois is in the single digits today, below 0 with the wind chill, I decided it was a good time to make the cards.

I just bought the Large Winter Tree and wanted to use it so this gave me the chance to use it sooner than later.  Since I was using the DeNami stamp, I decided to make another card for the Product Challenge #5 - Punches.  It's a very simple card.

Products used ...
  • Stamps:  DeNamie Large Winter Tree and Season's Greetings from the Poinsettia Christmas Kit
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Studio G Green Chalk, and X-Mas Red Stickles
  • Ribbon:  Offray 1/8" Burgundy and Green
  • Paper:  Archiver's Burgundy and Goldenrod
  • Tools:  Creative Memories corner punch, round and decorative, sponge for chalk, and hole punch
My bows are not the best; I'm still trying to get this right.

Holiday Wishes to all.  Stay warm and safe.

This time I went with a Birthday Card.  Punches were a requirement and at least one DeNami stamp.  If you have other DeNami Products they would like to see them if possible, but it wasn't required. I incorporated all three (3) into my card.

Lawn Fawn Catalog/Booth Challenge

Lawn Fawn is hosting their first Blog Challenge, if you haven't seen it here is the link ... Lawn Fawn Blog

I just recently found their stamps and I really loving them.  One of the stamp sets I bought was "Critters in the 'Burbs".  I was so happy that this was added to the list for the challenge.  This was a little challenging, but I enjoyed it tremendously.

I created two (2) cards for this challenge.  The first card is "yay! .... yay!"

The "yay! ... yay!" represents the squirrels happiness at having all those lovely acorns around them.

Here is how I created the card.  The base of the card is dark brown.  I stamped the acorn border onto orange cardstock, and colored them in with Prismacolor Pencils (Terra Cotta, Dark Brown and Tuscan Red).  I stamped the tree onto white cardstock for positioning and put it on the side.  I then stamped the trunk on brown cardstock and the bush part of the tree onto green cardstock, and cut them out.  Next step was to adhered the tree parts on top of the tree.  Next I added the blue sky with Jim Holz's Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  Now the grass ... using the JH Applicator I used StudioG Green Chalk like distress ink.  I then applied the grass using the Green Chalk and Versa Color Olive (61), and then blended it all together with the JH Applicator.  I knew I was going to need more acorns so I used the same orange cardstock and stamped, colored and cut them out.  I stamped the squirrels onto the same cardstock as the tree trunk, cut them out and adhered them to the card using adhesive and 1/4" pop dots under the tail.  I put one of the acorns in the hands of one squirrel before attaching to the card.  Added the balance of the acorns with adhesive and one with 1/4" pop dot right above the second squirrel.  Added the "yay!" 2-times at the top corners of the card.

Here is a close up of the squirrels.

I used the same cardstock colors for the second card.

I used Martha Stewarts Double Loop punch at the bottom of the card base. This card cover was stamped with the butterfly from the set, and colored with copic markers.

The person receiving the card upon opening will only see the beautiful butterflies.  When they open the card they will see "You're the cat's meow!" with a cat inside.

I would love to know your thought on these cards, so please leave a comment.

Thank you for stopping by.

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge / Denami Product Challenge #5

When I saw the Holiday Music Inspiration Challenge by Wee Memories I was really excited.  The challenge is Sponsored by DeNami Designs.  I really LOVE the concept and plan to incorporate it into my holiday cards for next year, since this year’s holiday cards have already been mailed.  Since I used a punch around the edges of my card I decided to also submit this for the DeNami Product Challenge #5 - Punches.

One of my favorite holiday songs is “Mama Liked the Roses” by Elvis Presley.  The song is on Elvis’s White Christmas Album.  It’s a sad, but heartwarming song.   I don’t have any stamps of people so I went with the roses.

The entire card was made out of paper.  I stamped the Christmas Rose onto pink, red, green and light green paper.  I used my Fiskars Fingertip blade to cut out only the roses on the red and pink paper, and around the leaves on the green and light green paper (I left the rose in the center).  I also took out the swirls that were around the roses.   I then attached the red and pink roses on top of the leaves.  I used a Black Copic Small Brush marker around the edges of the roses and leaves to cover up the paper color.  Double stick tape was used to attach the ribbon so the paper wouldn’t bow, and ¼” pop dots were used to attach the roses to the card.  I was going to put the words “Mama Liked the Roses” on white paper and then attach it to the ribbon but it just didn’t look right.  I think my second option worked better.  The card looks a lot cleaner and you can still see the design of the paper behind the ribbon.
Products used …
  • Cardstock:    Paper Studio Rose, Red, Pink, Green & Light Green, and DeNami Bella Press Chandler Collection
  • Stamp:  DeNami Christmas Rose, and Lawn Fawn Jessie’s ABC’s
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, and Black Copic Marker - Small Brush.
  • Ribbon:   was part of the packaging on a holiday gift my husband received
  • Tools:  MS Double Loop Corner Punch, Fiskars Finger Tip Blade, Double-stick tape, and ¼” Pop Dots
My name means Rose in English and I really do love my roses.
Thank you for stopping by.

Quick & Easy Card for Christmas

Today's card is for the Northridge Cards Gallery Challenge ... Quick & Easy Christmas Cards for mass production.

At first I wasn't sure how easy the card was supposed to be.  I decided on using three (3) different types of card stock for the cover, and added a stamp on the inside.  This went together in minutes.

Products used ...
  • Cardstock:  Base - Paper Studio Green, then I added the Burgundy from Archiver's, and finished it off with the DCWV Holiday Pack paper.  I used Paper Studio Cream on the inside of the card for easier reading of the stamp.
  • Stamp:  Stampabilities Merry Christmas Always #DR1104
  • Ink:  Memento Onyx Black
This is a very simple, and easy card, that can be made using any type of Decorative Christmas Paper.  Great for a beginner.

Thank you for stopping by.

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

OTWC Inspiration Color Challenge #36
MFT Stamp Sketch

I incorporated the Color Challenge into the Sketch Challenge from MFT.  There is also a challenge out there by DeNami for a “Holiday Music” card.  Since I was using the Here’s My Story MFT stamp I thought it would be appropriate to incorporated this concept into my card.  The book that is being read is “Frosty the Snowman”, with Scrooge, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and Charlie Brown to follow.  I believe combining these 3 challenges turned out great.
Here are the two challenges this card was made for.

Products Used
  • Cardstock:  Paper Studio, DCWV Holiday
