Here's a side view that shows how the grass and flowers are popped up.

Keeping this one short tonight.  I hope you like my interpretation of the Tiffany's sketch, and you are inspired to go forth and create.

Sassy Happy Birthday ...

The current theme for Paper Pretties Challenge PWC155 is to create a birthday card.  I recently got this adorable digistamp from Sassy Studio Designs, and new she would make a perfect birthday card for my niece who is turning 13 on July 4th.

I color this Skater Sassy with my copic markers, and fussy cut her out.  Layered her on the solid cardstock and PP with 3D Foam Squares.  The bubble is actually a cloud from the Paper Smooches Spiffy Scooter set.  I stamped the cloud onto pink scrap paper, added the sentiment, fussy cut it out, used the Tim Holtz distress tool around the edges, and attached is with the 3D Foam Squares.  Then I added the rhinestones going from the bubble to our Skater Sassy.

I had a lot of fun creating this card!

I hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Wedding Wishes ...

I recently joined Sassy Studio Designs over at Paper Craft Planet.  They host "Fabulous Freebie Friday and a Challenge" weekly at Paper Craft Planet.  Their digistamps are beautiful to create with.  You also get updates on the Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenges held by Sassy Studio Designs.  This weeks challenge is lace and pearls.

I decided a Wedding card would be perfect for this challenge, and used Bella Bride for my design.

I printed Bella out, colored her with color pencils and copic markers.  The dress was colored with E41 Pearl White, unfortunately it looks more like a shell white vs. white.  Still looks great.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Sophie's Sentiments.  The lace is sheer white ribbon that I colored with a Cherry White copic marker, and I added the pearls to my ribbon.

I will also upload this card to Paper Craft Planet to show the ladies there what I created with my the digistamp I won.

If you haven't seen Sassy Studio Designs digistamps yet, I highly recommend that you check them out.  Their designs are SO SASSY!

I hope my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Thanks for stopping by!

Get Well Soon ...

I think this is my first ever "Get Well" card.

I loved using the colors in The Play Date Cafe's Color Splash Challenge #83 with Tiffany's Sketchy Sunday {TG021} sketch.  They compliment each other perfectly.

I pulled out another new set of Lawn Fawn stamps ... Blissful Botanicals, and an older one ... Sophie's Sentiments for this card.

I flipped Tiffany's sketch for my card.  I wanted to use the long stem of leaves from the set.  I love the white embossed design on black, and used crystal lacquer to attach the Honeydew Twine down the center.  The corner stamp with this set is gorgeous, and looks perfect against the white backdrop. The leaves were colored with copic markers and black rhinestones were add to the flowers center.  I pulled the coordinating flower and stem from the set and stamped it onto the green cardstock, added the sentiment, colored the flower white with a gel pen, attached the rhinestone in the center, and used 3D foam squares down the center with Small Zots on the sides to give it that popped up look.

I really love how this turned out, and will probably make a couple more just in case we need some.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the sketch and color splash, and you are inspired to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Enjoy the Ride ...

Wishing all a very happy Memorial Day with friends and family, with a BIG shout out to our servicemen for making this day possible!

So happy for a long weekend and time to get crafty in my room.  I created six cards during this holiday weekend!  Yes!  I really needed to get caught up with my submissions.

The first ones up are of course the ones with the closest deadline, like Tuesday, 05/31/2011.

Repeat Impressions Sketch #M1811 is the first one up for your pleasure.

I flipped the sketch for my design, and pulled out two new Lawn Fawn sets ... Cruising Thru Life and Admit One.

I stamped the bike on Neenah Classic Solar White cardstock, colored it with my copic markers, and fussy cut it out.  That was very challenging but worth the effort.  Next step was to choose the cardstock to layer my bike on.  I went with bright orange, a splattered orange, and the dotted paper.  Stamped the bike on the PP's, fussy cut the basket from the splattered orange, masked off the bike for the main design, and added the flowers in the basket and balloon strings.  Layered the bike and basket.

Staying with the blueish theme of the bike, I stamped the balloons and flowers on various shades of blue scraps, fussy cut them out, stamped the sentiment, and attached them to the design.  Last step was to add the yellow rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

You can't tell in this photo but the seat, peddle, handlebar, basket, flowers, and balloons were all popped up with 3/16" mini glue dots or 1/4" mini pop dots.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the sketch, and that it provides you with inspiration to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Graduation Card ...

With Graduation season upon us CAS-ual Friday's has the perfect challenge for us.  The current challenge CFC4 is to create a Graduation Card.

The image I used is from Sassy Studio Designs.  I recently won two Digistamps from Sassy Studio Designs over at Paper Craft Planet.

I colored my sassy graduate with copic markers, fussy cut her out, and attached her to my card.  Added the sentiment plus some bling on the tassel, and we are ready to go.

I gave this card to my niece/god daughter yesterday at her High School Graduation Party.

I hope you get some inspiration from my design to go forth and create.

Thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day Card ...

Bugaboo has two challenges going on this week, and I combined both of the challenges to create my card.  The first challenge is to create a "Celebration" project for the Catch The Bug Challenge Blog, and the second is the "Wacky Wednesday Challenge #3" on Paper Craft Planet called "Recipe Challenge".  The Recipe calls for 2 printed/patterned paper, a sassy or silly sentiment and bling.

I went with one solid color and one patterned paper for my design.  Now for my golfer.  This is the Freebie I got at Bugaboo last Friday called AKV Golf Bag.  I printed this awesome guy out on white paper, colored him with my copic markers,  and then fussy cut him out.  Yep, I fussy cut him.  I layered the different pieces on the greenish PP, drew in the pertinent parts like hands, neck and golf club handles, and then put him back together. LOL

I used my Lawn Fawn stamps to finish off the design.  The flag and pole are from Cruisin Through Life, with the number on the flag from Admit One, and the sentiment was created with Harold's ABC's.  I added a pearl to represent a golf ball.  Our golfer just missed making PAR.  For non-golfer's PAR means you finished the hole in the number of strokes that the golf course says your supposed to finish the hole in.  A BOGEY means that you finished the hole with one extra stroke.

My hubby is a golfer, and this is perfect for him!  He gets BOGEY's once in a while.  The inside of the card contains my personal Father's Day message to him.

I hope my card provides you with a giggle, and some inspiration to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Designed 2 Delight Saturday Design Team Challenge is to create a project using White + One Color.  I only have a couple of D2D digistamps and here is what I created.

The stamp I used is called "Single Wildflower".  I made my wildflower red.  After coloring the petals with my copic markers I fussy cut the petals for both of these cards.  I applied Barn Door distress ink around the entire image, layered all of the pieces together, popped one of the petals up with 3/16" mini glue dots and the other with mini pop dots.  3D Crystal Lacquer was placed on the inside of the flower, then on the veins of the petals.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.

Here is a picture of one card by itself.

I hope my design provides you with inspiration to go forth and create.

Award Time ...

Honorable mentions / awards that I received for my designs in blog world. ;D

I made it into the Winner's Circle again over at Sketchy Sunday for the April TG014 Challenge.

Received my FIRST ever honorable Cream in Our Coffee over at the Play Date Cafe for the card I created for Challenge #82.
I will adding these to my Awards & Accomplishments Tab, and adding the badges to my home page once I update my blog.

Thank you ladies for the honors.

Sassy Studio Designs Little Honey Army

I joined the Sassy Studio Designs group over on Paper Craft Planet.  Regan provided this adorable Digistamp called Little Honey Army in Honor of Armed Forces Day last Friday.

I really think she is adorable, but very sexy.  To create this card, I printed Little Honey a couple of times.  Colored her skin, hair and boots with my copic markers and fussy cut her out.  I used Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Ink on the uniform and helmet, added copic marker on the hat strip, fussy cut them out and layered them on Little Honey.

I just had to share this one with you ladies!   If you are a member of Paper Craft Planet you should check out the Sassy Studio Designs group.

I hope my design provides you with inspiration to go forth and create.

Thinking about you ...

When I saw the Black & White challenge over at Playing in Paradise #16 I knew I wanted to play along.  I combined these colors with the Sketch challenge over at i{heart}2stamp.

I picked up my first A Muse Studio set of stamps this weekend and new they would be perfect for these challenges.  I inked up the branch w/leaves with white pigment ink for the black cardstock, and with black ink for the white cardstock.  In person it is a subtle white on the black that looks really nice, it looks kinda greenish on the picture.  Not happy about that.

I inked up the sentiment and butterfly with watermark resist ink, and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Used a Nesti on the sentiment, and a white pen to go around the border.  The butterfly was fussy cut before popping it on the design.

I hope you are inspired by my interpretation of the sketch and color challenge to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by.

Thinking of You ...

Good morning.  This is the first of two more cards I created yesterday to share with you.

This was created for CAS-ual Fridays CFC #3 Bring on the Bling, and DeNami's Product Challenge #08 to use Patterned Paper.

I used another new stamp for this design from DeNami.  I love the idea of laying back in a bubblebath as I think of my hubby when he's out of town.  He will be heading out again soon, so I will slip this one into his luggage with a note about how I can't wait to join him.

I colored in Mimi and the bathtub and bubbles with my copic markers, applied some 3-D Crystal Lacquer and Very Fine Sparklets to the bubbles.  This is the first time I used 3-D Crystal Lacquer so this card was really a 2-day project.  I wanted to make sure that the Sparklets wouldn't come off when I turned the design over so I let it sit overnight.  Silly I know!

I used my rule to draw a line near the top of the tub, fussy cut the top part of the paper so I could incorporate some wallpaper behind the tub.  The chair rail was drawn with a .035 Copic Marker and colored in.  I replaced the bubbles I cut off with some bling bubbles, and popped up Mimi's head with a 1/4" mini pop dot that I cut in half.

I hope you enjoy my CAS design and it provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by.

Sending you Sunshine ... again ;)

DeNami Product Challenge #08 calls for the use of Patterned Paper.

I saw this cool technique back on April 5th over at the OWH Stars & Stamps Blog.  It's called Tutorial Pinwheel II, and step-by-step instruction are provided on how to create this design.   I'm not sure if you will agree, but I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

The PP used is from the Watermelon Paper Sampler I got a couple of months ago from DeNami.

Some of the items I used were picked up at the Expo in Milwaukee, WI on Saturday while working the DeNami booth with Nami and the gang.  Here is a picture of Nami in action with a captive audience.  I snuck this during a break.
Here is the picture of me and the gang before I left for the day.  Note:  I'm not really strangling the young man, he's being a comedian.
Lots of fun was had, along with some sore legs. LOL

I hope my design using this technique provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

I combined two challenges to create this fun card!  We have Lawnscaping Challenge #10 called Polka Dot Frenzy, and a color pallet provided by the Play Date Cafe Challenge #82.

I picked up some of the new Lawn Fawn stamps last week and new that Admit One would be perfect for this challenge.  The colors from the Play Date Cafe Challenge is perfect for this set.
A lot of fussy cutting went into creating this card, along with some copic coloring.  Two different PP's with dots were used for this card.

I hope my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Thanks ...

What a busy weekend.  I was so happy to get crafty last night, and during the day today while Katie was in school.

My first card is for Tiffany's Sketchy Sunday {TG019} challenge.  After going thru my emails today I realized that this card is perfect for the current challenge over at Wee Memories called Stamp It!.

The color of the card is Ivory but for some reason
it looks yellow in the picture.

Had a great time working at the DeNami booth with Nami and the gang at the Expo in Milwaukee, and managed to get some new stamps during my breaks.  You will see some of them over the next couple of days.

For this card I inked up one of the Unity Insightful Meadows with Mementos Paris Dusk, Danube Blue and Summer Sky to create the field of flowers.  I scored a couple of lines down the left side of the card, masked it off and inked it up with Summer Sky Distress Ink then inked up one of the Unity sentiments with Paris Dusk and stamped it down panel.

I hope my interpretation provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Woohooo! Way to Go

What an awesome night!  Dinner out, just Katie & me, at Chili's.  Came home and watched American Idol.  The kids/contestants did an amazing job tonight.  Now that Katie's in bed for the night I can finish my post.

I had two challenges in mind while creating this card.  The first is called Pop It Up! by Your Next Stamp #42, and the second is a color challenge from Off The Wall Craftiness #53.

I fussy cut the leaves and popped them up with 3/16" mini glue dots, and popped up the Owl, including his eyes and beak with Mini Pop Dots.  Not sure if you can tell from the picture above, so here is a side view.

I hope my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.  There is still time to join in the fun for both of these challenges, and there are great prizes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bugaboo Wacky Wednesday #2

We have a new Wacky Wednesday Challenge from Bugaboo over at Paper Craft PlanetChallenge #2 is to create a design based this inspirational picture.

I purchased this Sunbonnet Fish 1 Digi Stamp from Bugaboo at the beginning of May, and think its perfect for this challenge.

I printed off a couple copies of the stamp, colored the whole design on one and only the hat on the other, and fussy cut them out.  I cut off the fishing line completely from the design.  Layered the design on my PP and background color, and then used some American Craft Black Twine to sew my own fishing line into the design.  I then popped on the hat with 3/16" Mini Glue Dots.

I hope my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hello ...

Wee Memories current challenge is called Get Sticky, #56.  I love this title!  This means you need to design a project using stickers, or anything that will stick to your design.

You may be wondering where I got those phone stickers.  Well here is the story.  Back in the early '90's I worked for a construction company and during some downtime these stickers were created.  We had some Clip Art pages and copied them onto Drafting Applique Film.  This drafting paper is used when adding elements/changes to architectural drawings to be submitted for approval.  If the owner did not like the changes the film was lifted off the drawings, and they would start over again.

The sentiment and frames are rubons transfers, and to keep with the aged look I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges.

I hope that my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Thanks for dropping by.

Sending you Sunshine

When I created this card for the current challenge over at CAS-ual Friday's, # CFC2 I was wishing for sunshine and some mojo.  Every concept that was in my head to combine these two products didn't jell.  Fourth time was the charm.

I got some DeNami goodies in the mail on Saturday just in time for this challenge.  Those sapphire buttons are from DeNami, and I just love the variety of sizes and shapes that came in my package.

As you can see I made a frame out of twine and buttons within the frame of the colors on my card.  The base is Admiral Blue, with a layer of yellow and craft cardstock.  The sentiment was inked up with Paris Dusk from Memento.  The finishing touch was the rub-on flowers with the bling.

I hope that my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Thanks for dropping by.

Congrats!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #PDCC81 challenged us to use a color combination I never would have thought of.  I really wasn't sure how they would work together, but it actually looks awesome.  I knew I would be paper piecing this design together so I'm also submitting this design for Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge #DCC511.

I pulled out my Fanciful Frames and Happily Ever After from Lawn Fawn for this challenge.  I inked up the small frame and stamped it three times, on the green, white and purple.  I fussy cut the white and purple frames, and layered them together.  I stamped the hook and stitched in some lilac twine for hanging the frame on.  I added the sentiment and glasses to the inside of the frame, then layered it on the green wall.  The glasses were colored with a metallic pen, and a rhinestone was as the nail.

The design needed a little more so I added the design under the frame, and paper pieced the floral design in purple.

I finished the inside of the card for this one.

I hope my design provides some inspiration for you to go forth and create.

Thanks for stopping by.

RI Designer's Choice DCC511

The current Designer's Choice Challenge over at Repeat Impressions blog is Paper Piecing, #DCC511.

I pulled out my Mixed Fruit for this challenge.  I used a combination of copic markers, and paper piecing for this card.  It's hard to tell by this picture, but the cherries, grapes and yellow flowers were all paper pieced.  Fussy cutting this one out was a little tedious; however, I like the way it turned out.  I added pink rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

Here's to hoping that my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

RI Sketch M411

Wendy over at Repeat Impressions gave us another great sketch to work with; #M411

I turned the sketch and my focal point an oval vs. a circle.

For this card I pulled out my Faber-Castell Big Brush and inked up the Footbridge stamp from Repeat Impressions, then colored it in with my Faber-Castell Aquarelle pencils, and applied water with my paintbrush to blend the colors.  I really love how the image turned out.

You may be wondering "what is that in the corners at the bottom of my card?".  I picked up these, see picture below, while at Kohl's today.  They are picture holders.  Aren't they cute.

Hope my interpretation of the sketch provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.

Furry Friend CAS card

Another card for CAS-ual Friday's first ever challenge CFC1.

I let my ribbon do the Texting for me.  I will use this as a birthday card for someone I know who just loves their cat and dog.  I paper pieced the tongue and eyes for the dog, and the nose and eyes for the adorable cat.

This was the first card I created for the challenge but I wasn't 100% sure I would submit it.  I hope my design provides you with some inspiration to join in on the fun.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just roll With it ...

This card was created for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #80, which was to use Red, Orange and White.

To create the road I brushed on some Wild Honey and Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and used a paintbrush with water to blend them together.  I like the rust like effect I got!  The scooter was paper pieced, and stickles were added to the PP I created.  A Metallic Pen was used on the mirrors, and then I added some glossy accents to them.  I sponged the Stormy Sky Distress Ink at the top of the card then inked up the star and put some stars in the sky, and then I went over the area with the paintbrush with water to blend it together.

The color inspirational photo ...

Hope my design provides you with some inspiration to go forth and create.
