A Bridal Shower Invite ...

This is my last post for the day.  I started working on the design for these invitations last month and finally finalized all the details last week prior to putting them together.

I actually forgot about this challenge since I already submitted one design.  I saw on FB yesterday that there was still time to submit the invitation for Wee Memories Challenge #60 "Party Time".

My daughter Katie will be hosting the Bridal Shower with her grandmother and her aunt in August.  This party is for my son and his fiance.  I covered the personal contact information with a blue post-it note for privacy reasons.

I created 30 of these babies, and put them together last week as an assembly line.  The only stamp I used on this was the rings in both of the corners at the top.  It's very light, light a watermark, and I don't know if you can see it.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

A Card for many challenges ...

As the heading of this post says, this is a card for many challenges.  Three to be exact.

We have Repeat Impressions Sketch J1511 which I flipped.  The colors are from The Play Date Cafe (#87) featuring grey, blue, and red.  While the theme was inspired by Just Us Girls (#90) which was to create a 3D project with a patriotic theme.

I had fun combining these three challenges together.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Sending Smiles Across the Miles ...

I love when there are challenges that mesh perfectly together.

We have Your Next Stamp (YNS45) color challenge of black and white + 1 more, and CAS-ual Fridays (CAS8) theme challenge called Getting Edgy.

I pulled out my Avocado Arts Hello Friend set for this design.
I think these telephone posts are simply adorable with the coordinating sentiment, and couldn't resist putting the cute birdie on the pole.

For the scallop sentiment I used only the center part of Martha Stewarts Double Scallop punch on each coordinating color, layered them together and curved the sentiment along the scalloped edge.  After attaching the sentiment I popped on the design.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Congrats ...

Hello again.  The current color challenge at Paper Pretties (PWC159) is White on White.  This is the perfect challenge for a wedding card.

I'm also submitting this card for the Paper Crafts Magazine's Gallery Idol 2011.

Very CAS card here.  After embossing my white cardstock, I tied on the White/Iridescent Ribbon, and then popped on the stamped doily and cut it to size.  Note:  I found that adding a white circle behind the doily to give it more stability.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Tropical Summer Hibiscus

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I have several card I'll be sharing with you today.  The first card is for Designed 2 Delights Stamp of the Month Challenge.
Two different versions of this Tropical Summer Hibiscus were provided, and I chose to use the flower all by itself.  I printed three copies of this lovely, and did a bit of fussy cutting.

I let the design be the focal point of my card, and will probably use it as a birthday card by adding the sentiment on the inside.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Congrats! ...

So happy that I was able to join in this weeks Lawnscaping Challenge #12 which is a sketch.

I will also be submitting this card to the Gallery Idol 2011 challenge at Paper Crafts Magazine Flicker Page.

This card is for a second cousin's sons wedding coming up on July 3rd.

I was originally going to submit this card for the JUGS #89 Color Challenge, but I lost track of time and missed the deadline.  That explains my color choices.  Wasn't sure at first how they would look together, but I'm liking it.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for your kindness ...

I've been a busy little beaver.  This is my third post tonight, and it's for the iheart2stamp SFYTT June 2011 Sketch.

I pulled out a set from the Little Paper Shop.  Unfortunately, there is no set name listed on the stamps so I can't tell you what the set is called.

This is such a cute set and I really enjoyed working with it.  All of the paper used are scraps that I had laying around; some of them were on the large size.  They were leftovers from when I created Engagement Party invites in February.

Hope my designs inspires you to go forth and create.

Talk about participating at the last minute.  Wasn't sure I would get this done in time to play along with Paper Players #52 challenge which calls for a CAS card.  This is the lovely sketch they provided us to play with.

The colors in my card are for the Cropstop Blog Hop challenge posted by Gloria.

I got my "Hello Friend" set from Avocado Arts in the mail today, and just had to play with them for this challenge.  This set is sooo cute!

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

 - Wee Memories #60:  create a card for a Party.

 - Crop Stop Blog Hop challenge posted by Agnes:  create a card featuring your favorite pet.
I love my son's puppy Winston, who's not really a puppy anymore, so my card features a dog from the Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies.  The balloons were made with my QuicKutz Squeeze and Balloon Die, and they are floating from some twine from The Twinery.

Hi there ...

When I created this card I had two challenges on my mind.  The first is Sassy Studio Designs Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge #77, and Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge #158.

One challenge was to glam it up while the other was to create a single layer card.

First thing I did was choose the stamp.  I went with Flapper from Sassy Studio Design which I recently won for one of their challenges on Paper Craft Planet.  I figured she would be the perfect girl to glam up while still creating a one-layer card.

After coloring our Flapper girl with my copic markers I applied Antique Linen & Vintage Photo Distress Ink, then used my Quicki Glue Pen to add some sparkle to her top and above her eyes.  Attached her to my card, added the sentiment and the gems.

Hope my design inspires you go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Bouquet of Flowers for you ...

Good morning.  Here is a card I created over the weekend.  It is for the Designed 2 Delight Monthly Progressive Challenge.  I purchased this weeks stamp because I was out of town and couldn't play last week.
I let Fresh Cut Flowers be the focal point of my design.  I printed two copies of the digi-stamp; one was slightly smaller.  I colored the main design, then colored the flowers only of the smaller design and fussy cut out the flowers.  After layering my flowers on the different cardstock, I popped on the cut flowers, added some crystal lacquer to the vase to get a water effect, then added some rhinestones to the inside of the vase.

As I look at the photo I think it needs a little more, so I will add some purple rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Celebrate ...

The current challenge over at The Play Date Cafe (#86) is a Color Challenge.  Check out the cool inspirational photo they provided this week.

And here is my Celebration card.
I pulled out the Teeny Star Background that I just got in the mail from DeNami Design.  This stamped up so nicely that it will probably become a favorite.  I have several other DeNami stamps that it will go great with, and I'm also thinking Christmas.  I know that is 6-months away, but it will arrive before we know it.

Okay, back to this card.  The sailboat was inked up with my Cobalt Blue Big Brush, stamped onto some orange scrap, and fussy cut it out.  The sentiment was inked up with my Big Brush, stamped it on some more scrap, and punched it out with my EKS.  Layered all of the pieces together, added on some ribbon, then popped on the sentiment and sailboat with dimensional squares.  The last step was to add a star gem and color it with my Big Brush.

I will probably give this to my son for his birthday on July 6th.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Congratulations ...

Good evening all!  Hope everyone had a great Father's Day!

While doing laundry I had some time to play in my craft area today.

Here is the card I created for the current Challenge over at  CAS-ual Fridays (CFC7).  When I first saw the challenge I wasn't really sure what I do.  After finishing two other cards, which I will share with you tomorrow, an idea popped into my head.

I created a "Congratulations" card for this weeks challenge so I am going to submit it to Gallery Idol 2011 challenge.

I love that I was able to use up some of my scraps for this card.  The design was inspired by the cute church from Paper Smooches FOLKal Points.   After attaching the different blocks to my card, I stamped the church and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I stamped the church 3 more times on each of the different colors, fussy cut the sections out, and layered them with my Quickie Glue Pen.  I added the faux stitching with a Copic 0.35 Black Multi-Liner.

This card will be given to Lauren, my future daughter-in-law, by Katie at one of the Bridal Showers being held.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Think Pink Shaped Card ...

Your Next Stamp (YNS) Challenge #44 is to create a shaped card.  The challenge is called "Seeing Shapes".  I created this card for my niece.
After taking the first picture, I knew I forgot something.  I planned to add some bling to her headscarf.  Here is a picture of the final card.
The sentiment "Think Pink" was hand written by me.  It's a reference to Victoria Secret.  My niece turns 13 and is very much into the Pink line they have for teenagers.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

A Father's Day card for my Father-in-law

Yesterday my hubby asked me if I made a card for his dad for Father's Day.  I had one made, but like to give him two options to choose from.  So I created this card, which he chose to give to his dad.

Because this is a Father's Day card I'm submitting it for the Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge #68

I picked up this awesome Digi-stamp from Designed 2 Delight the other day, and it turned out to be the perfect card for my father-in-law.  I printed out the design a couple of times, and colored it in with watercolor pencils.  I love how these make the background so lifelike.  The boat was colored with copic markers, fussy cut out, and layered on the scene which gave it a 3-dimensional look.

Here is the inside of the card.

We gave the card to my father-in-law today, and he LOVED it!

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Just a Note ...

Just got back from walking Katie to camp.  It's beautiful outside, supposed to hit upper 70's today here in Northern Illinois.

I was so happy that the DeNami Color Challenge #8 is open until the 27th of June.  I was getting ready to head out of town when the challenge was posted and knew that I wouldn't be able to play along before or immediately after I got back.  Four days later and I had time to play!  ;D

I stamped the Small Daisy Bloom 7 times, and fussy cut them out. I stamped the Whimsical Oval Frame on the main cardstock, popped the Daisies on with 3D Foam Squares, and put a pink rhinestone in the center of each.  I know "pink" is not part of the colors in the challenge but it needed a little more to draw the eye.  The PP at the bottom is from the Chandler Collection.  I used the last of my chocolate ribbon  on this card; didn't even have enough left to make a bow so I improvised a little.  The sentiment was stamp a couple of times, punched out each word with a 1" punch, added some Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges, and layered them together and popped them on the card.

All of the items on my card are from DeNami, even the rhinestones.  I picked them up while they were in Milwaukee in May.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

You make my world go round ...

Hello.  Hope all of you are having a great week so far.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by for the DeNami Design Blog Hop and left me some very sweet comments.

My card today was created with another freebie from Sassy Studio Design over at Paper Craft Planet.  This lovely is called ... Popcorn Patty.

The current Sassy Studio Design Friday Challenge is called At the Movies, and coordinates with Sassy Studio Designs new release which you can find here

I combined the Movie theme with an amusement park.  Not sure it will qualify for the challenge but I really enjoyed putting this one together.
After coloring Popcorn Patty I fussy cut her out, and put her on the side.  Cut out the hill from some scrap and adhered it to the base card.  Then pulled out my Admit One set from Lawn Fawn, and stamped me a cute Ferris wheel, some tickets, the lovely sentiments, and colored them with my copic markers.  Added some Stormy Sky distress ink, attached Popcorn Patty with some small zots and 3D Foam Squares, put some crystal lacquer on the popcorn and windows of the Ferris wheel, and added the rhinestones.

Hope my design inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday ... You're so cool!

Last Friday I received this FREE super CUTE Shopping Stacey digi stamp over at Paper Craft Planet from Sassy Studio Designs.  They also have a challenge called "Summer Time" over at Paper Craft Planet which this lovely will work.  Shopping is perfect for any season.

There is another challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs blog here called "DARE to be Sassy Thursday #75 and Guest Designer Call".  Going to try my luck and submit this card for the challenge ... create a project without any patterned paper.  I got that down.  Left it VERY CAS.

So here goes ...
I printed this lovely out, colored her with my copic markers, and fussy cut her out.  Layered her on the colored cardstock, and used some 1/4" Mini Pop Dots to pop up the scarf and shopping bags.  The sentiments are from two different Lawn Fawn sets.

I hope you are inspired by my design to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

News Flash ...

There are two different challenges that I created this "News Flash" card for.

We have the Play Date Cafe Color Challenge #84, and the Sketch Challenge provided by CAS-ual Fridays #5.

This card is for my daughter, Katie, to give to her dad on Father's Day.

Here's the inside.

This is actually the second card I made.  I smeared the boob tube on the card I created yesterday, so I recreated it today.

I hope you are inspired by my design to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

A Teacher card ...

School is over for the year but I believe you never have to many of these cards in your stash.  I used the Sketch from Bugaboo's Wacky Wednesday #4 over at Paper Craft Planet, and primary colors from the rainbow for the One Crazy Stamper June Challenge.  Since I used a Bugaboo digi-stamp this is also for Catch the Bugs Anything Goes Challenge.

I hope my design/interpretation of the sketch inspires you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Remembering with you ...

I combined two different challenges from Repeat Impressions for this card.  The first is the Designer's Choice Challenge DCC525 which is a Stitching Challenge, and the second one is the What IF Wednesday Sketch Challenge J111.

I have faux and real stitching in my design.  I used the Sew Easy Piercer which I picked up a couple of months ago but haven't really had much success with.

I flipped the sketch; however, feel it would have worked the original way also.

I hope my design/interpretation of the two challenges inspire you to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!

Masculine Card for the Golfer ...

Your Next Stamp provides us with a Sketch for their Challenge #43.  I decided to make a  masculine card which I will probably give to my darling hubby!

I recently picked up the Golf Scene stamp from YNS because my hubby is a golfer, and this stamp is perfect for creating cards for him.

I'm not sure if I'll disturb the outside of the card with a sentiment.  Will probably leave it clean and put my sentiment on the inside.

I hope my design/interpretation of the sketch inspires you to go forth and create.

Celebrate ... A Masculine Card ...

The current DT's Satuday Challenge over at Designed 2 Delight is to create a Masculine Card.  Is so happens that I created a Masculine Card today using Tiffany's Sketchy Sunday {TG022}

I pulled out my new Unity Stamps ... Itty Bitty Celebrate ... that I picked up in Wisconsin last month.

As you can see I went with a clean and simple design for this sketch.  I love how the orange sailboat just pops out at you!

I hope my design/interpretation of the sketch inspires you to go forth and create.

Designed 2 Delight Weekly Challenge & Playing in Paradise

This is my first time playing in the Monthly/Weekly Challenge over at Designed 2 Delight.  I made myself a promise to put this at the top of my list for challenges this month.  I really enjoy working with Digi-stamps because I LOVE to color, and if you play along with Designed 2 Delight weekly challenges, you receive a FREE Digi-stamp via email for the next weeks challenge.  All of the information about the challenges are located here.

This is the FREEBIE we received this week called "Spring Fence".  I made the stamp my focal point on this card.  To start off I printed four (4) copies of this stamp.  I colored the fence on the first copy ... the flowers and flower pot on the second ... the stems, leaves, and fern on the third copy ... with my Copic Markers.  The fourth copy I trimmed down to the size I wanted for my card, and applied Forest Moss and Stormy Sky Distress Ink accordingly.  The biggest part of my card was fussy cutting all of the leaves, flowers, stems, pots, fence, etc.  Once this was done I layered it all on the fourth copy.  The fence and flower stems and fern were attached with my Quickie Glue Pen, and small zots were rolled up and put under the areas hanging over to keep them popped up.  The flowers, pots, and each leaves were attached with 1/4" Pop Dots.  Some of the Pop Dots were cut in half or quarters to get the effect I was looking for.

Sideview that shows layering a little better.

I really had a great time creating this card, and knew going in that I would also submit this card to Playing in Paradise Challenge #18: Paper Piecing.

I hope you enjoy my design and you are inspired to go forth and create.

Thank you for stopping by!
