Be yourself ...

I've had this image from Just Some Lines called Big Hat Girls 2 printed for over a week now.  This was one of the Freebie's from the current CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge #18.

I picked up the sentiment from Create with TLC for free last week.  When I saw it I knew I found the perfect sentiment to go with this image.

I wasn't sure how I was going to color this adorable girl until I saw the current color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.  The colors in the challenge were perfect for her, so I pulled out my Copic Markers and got to work, and fussy cut her out leaving a white border.  Next was to cut out the sentiment and the border with my dies, and layer all the pieces on my card.

I will be submitting this card for the following challenges ...

Now for some inspirational photos ...

I really love how this card turned out, and I hope you do to!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Thinking of you ...

This is the last of my cards I have to share with you.

I'm cutting it really close this month for the DeNami Challenge ~ Sketch #12.  I combined this months sketch with the colors from Playing in Paradise Challenge #68.
I don't have any of the new DeNami stamps so I pulled out the G114 Christmas Rose and the TR16 All Occasion Sentiment stamps for my card.  The sentiment was embossed, and the rose was paper pieced.  The Lemondrop Twine was wrapped around the card and pulled thru a 1/8" Yellow Eyelet, and Cappuccino Twine was added to the button.

I'm also submitting this card for the Young Crafter's Unite flower challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... DeNami, A Muse Studio & Bazzill Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black, Inkssentials Watermark Resist Ink, Stampendous White Embossing Powder, Green Simplicity Button, Yellow Ribbon from May Arts, Making Memories Eyelet, Fiskars Scissors, WeR Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile, 3D Foam Squares, Pop Up Glue Dots and my trusty ATG.

You're the Best!

Here's a card for the current CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #54 which is all about creating a masculine card with DP.
This sentiment perfectly described my hubby, and I thought it was appropriate for a masculine card. I paper pieced the shirt and tie using scraps  .... DP for the shirt ... blue for the tie ... white for the color.  The hubby used to have a shirt similar to this a long time ago.  I wonder if he'll remember?  The inside says "Happy Father's Day".  This is the card Katie will give her dad.

Here's a close-up of the shirt ...
I used white embossing powder for the sentiment.

I'm also submitting this card to Simon Says Stamps Father's Day Challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

After coloring the flower with my Copic Markers I added some distress ink, stamped the zig-zag and sentiment, added some twine, and the rhinestone.

Reach for the Stars ...

It's been quite around here this past week because I was baking, and putting together Teacher, Teacher Assistant's, and Bus Driver year end Thank you gifts for Katie.  Last day of school was Friday, and I was so happy to get back into my little corner to create "just for me" yesterday.

I have several cards to share with you today.  I managed to combine quite a few challenges. ;o)

My first card was designed using the current Freshly Made Sketch #36.
I used this lovely Sassy Studio Designs "Sandra's Graduation" that was given to SSD Fans for Free on Friday for the current Fabulous Freebie Friday Challenge at Paper Craft Planet.

Sandra was colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut out.  Once all the cardstock and design paper was cut I stamped the Star, then put all the pieces together, and added some Clear Star Twinkle Stickers.  The sentiment is from some Graduation Stickers I purchased from Hobby Lobby when my son graduated college several years ago.

This card will go into my stash for next year when my niece graduates High School.

Here is the sketch provided ...

I'm also submitting this card for the following challenges ... SSD FF Challenge at PCP, Lily Pad Cards "Simon Says Stamps present a Star Challenge", and Paper Crafts Gallery Idol 2012 "Encouragement".

SSD May Release Blog Hop

Good morning my friends, and welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs May Release Blog Hop.  We have a variety of awesome new images to share with you today.

If you are following the hop you should have arrived from the incredibly talented Christy.  If you just arrived, you really need to start at the beginning of the Blog Hop here to see all of the awesome projects created by the rest of the Design Team.
Many of you may have already seen, and picked up, the "#1 Mom" Digital Stamp that Lindsay made available to our SSD Fans for FREE on Mother's Day.  If not, you can purchase her here.

I really love this image! She is Sassy and proud!  This card is for my Mother-in-Law's Birthday.  She turned 75 yesterday and I will give her the card when we take her out to dinner tonight for her birthday.

This month's Sassy Question is "What is your favorite flower, and why?".

My favorite flower is the Rose!  This picture was taken last June during my visit to the Portland Rose Garden.  I took lots of pictures, and love every single one of them.

Why?  First, my name means Rose in English.  Because of this my husband brings me Roses regularly throughout the year just because, and they are always Red.

I designed my card based on the current Cardabilities Sketch #55 as shown below.
What would a Blog Hop be without Prizes.  There are three (3) Sassy Studio Design Prizes up for grabs.  Make sure you comment on all of the Design Team Blog, and remember tell us your Favorite Flower over on the SSD Blog.

Blog Hop Order

You have until Wednesday, May 23rd, to get your comments in.

Sassy Sneak Peak ...

Today I get to share a Sneak Peak of one of the new images being released by Sassy Studio Designs on Saturday, May 19th.  Lindsay created several new Graduation stamps. I went with the young man called The Graduate to create cards for two of my nephews.

This first card is for my nephew who is graduating from High School this year, and yellow & green are the colors of his cap & gown.
The second card is for my nephew that is graduating from Jr. High, and his school colors are Black & Purple.

Isn't The Graduate a cool guy! Perfect for creating cards for the young man in your life! I really love him, and had a blast creating these cards for my nephews.

Now make sure you head over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to see the Sneak Peak of the other Graduation images that the Design Team created, and remember to come back on Saturday for the Sassy Studio Designs Blog Hop Release Party, and then join us for a chat Saturday night.

A Little Bit Country Today ...

Sassy Studio Designs is the Sponsor for this weeks Wicked Wednesday Weekly ATC Challenge.  This weeks challed is "A Little Bit Country"! So here goes ...
The SSD Image I used is called Country Donna (Country Girl Sassy) which you can purchase here.  She reminds me a little bit about Elly May Clampett from The Beverly Hillbillies Show from the 70's.  I made her a brunette instead of blond, and put her in front of the a farm house.

Now our SSD Design Team once again outdid themselves so make sure you head over to Sassy Studio Designs Blog, and then head over to Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog for all the details about this week's challenge.

What a Hoot! ...

After running around all day I managed to get an hour of crafting in today.
This card is for the current CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #52 which is called "Feathered Friends".  This cute Owl is from a Studio G Clear Stamps set from Series #57.  I found her burried in my bin of Clear Stamps.  What a mistake. Isn't that owl adorable?  She was colored with my Copic Markers, and my design is based on the current Clean & Simple Sketch #190.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Neenah Solar White & Bazzill Cardstock, Howdy Doody DP from My Mind's Eye, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Gathered Twigs Distress Ink from Tim Holtz, 3/4" Brown Grosgrain Ribbon from DeNami, Nestabilities S4-128 Classic Squares Small & S4-129 Classic Scalloped Square Small, Dauber, 3D Foam Squares, and my trusty ATG.

Congradulations ...

It's that time of year again.  Graduations are just around the corner.  I have two nephews graduating this year, one from Jr. High and one from High School.  I'll share their cards with you on Friday.

Speaking of Graduations Sassy Studio Designs is the Sponsor for this weeks Clear It Out Challenge titled ConBRADulations! Get it!  All you have to do is create a congratulations cards with BRADS.  So here is my project ...

I used Teen Scene - Cassie's Graduation for my card that you can purchase here.  The sentiment and hats are from the Smarty Pants Stamp Set from Paper Smooches! A perfect match for our Sassy Cassie!

I picked up the Outer Stair Step Black cardbase from Paper Cut while at an event in Wisconsin last month.  This is so much easier for me than trying to create the steps on my own. I always mess it up, so I was really happy to add this to my craft supplies.  I measured and cut the Howdy Doody DP by My Mind's Eye, and attached it to the base.  I love how the color pops off the black.  Then I popped Sassy Cassie onto the cardbase, added mini white brads to the caps, attached them to the steps, stamped the sentiment, and added some star stickers and confetti.

As always, the SSD Design Team has created some amazing projects to inspire you so please head over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to see them, then head on over to Clear it Out Challenge Blog for all the details about this weeks challenge.

Speaking of challenges, I'm going to submit this card for the current Playing in Paradise Challenge #66 which is all about Graduation/Encouragement.  Check out this lovely badge they created!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day ...

Today's card was created for my mother-in-law using the current Freshly Made Sketch #34.  My own mother passed on almost 21-yrs ago.  I think of her often, but know that she is in a better place now.
I pulled out my Sugar Chic Petite Paper Pack from Heidi Swapp and combined it with Taylored Expressions Make it Amazing Stamp Set & Elegant Butterflies Dies.

I really love how this card turned out. The butterfly wings lay flat for mailing. Since this card is being hand delivered on Mother's Day I will show my hubby how to lift up the wings for the butterfly to be in flight.

Spring Dance layout ...

Another day of scrapbooking for me.  Today's page was created for Just Us Girls Challenge #135.  In honor of National Scrapbook Day this week's challenge was to create a layout.

This is the first of many pages I will create for Katie's Spring Dance. I just hope her teacher emails me the other pictures that were taken.
Now that the page is done, I can see where I would have made some changes. Sigh!  Oh well, at least I know that Katie will love this addition to the 2012 Scrapbook I'm making for her.

Here is the sketch that provided for us to work from.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

NSD - A PageMaps Challenge

Today I am sharing a layout I created for Scrapbook & Cards Today NSD Challenge ~ A PageMaps.  I'm not much of a Scrapbooker, but decided to scrap my daughter Katie's pictures this year.  Maybe I will go back and finished the books I started years ago.  Didn't realize I was to scrap a picture of myself for this challenge. Hmmm. Hope this counts. ;o)

The Album pages are 8 x 8, so I changed the pictures sizes.

This layout is about Katie's first visit with Stryker, my daughter-in-laws horse, this year.  The top photo is of Katie and my son Nick wearing "horsey hats".

Here are the pages by themselves.

Here is the PageMaps provided for this challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

CAS-ual Friday's Birthday Celebration (2)

After creating my first card for CAS-ual Friday's Birthday Celebration I knew I had to create at least one more card for Challenge #51. So without further ado, here is my second card.
I thought this sentiment from the Best Year Ever stamp set from A Muse Studio is how many of the participants feel about the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge Blog

I based my design on the current Retro Sketches Challenge #10
Until next time ... Enjoy!

CAS-ual Friday's Birthday Celebration (1)

CAS-ual Fridays is celebrating their 1-yr anniversary this week!  The current Challenge #51 is all about birthday's. So here is the first birthday card I created for the celebration.
I pulled out my new Thoughts & Smiles Avocado Arts stamp set along with the Style Borders & Sentiments.  I stamped that adorable frame, added the ladybug and paper pieced the shell.  The flower and tag were colored with Copic Markers.  A medium brad was added to the center of the flower, and Lemonade Twine was tied on the tag, and both were attached to the frame.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
