PCP Sassy in the City Relay - Part IV

It's time for the Fourth & Final round of the Sassy in the City Progressive Relay over at the Sassy Studio Designs Blog.  I'm sure if you've been following the Relay you know that the FINAL image in the Relay Challenge is ...

Sassy Carrie
This rounds Theme is New York or Paris
(Use one of the two great cities where Carrie lived
as inspiration for your project)
As you can see I went with Paris!  Carrie was colored with Copic Markers.  The background was created with various Distress Inks from Tim Holtz and a couple of Pigment Inks using just a dauber.  After stamping the Eifel Tower, I fussy cut it out and applied Stickles to add the shimmer.

Now those who participated in the Third Round of the Relay will find this lovely Sassy Carrie in their email soon.  The Fourth/Final Challenge starts at 12:00 AM EDT on Saturday, June 30th and will remain open until 12:00 AM EDT on Monday, July 2nd.  You have an extra 2-hours to submit your projects for this one ladies!

For additional information regarding the Sassy in the City Progressive Relay Challenges, and to see what the rest of the Design Team created, head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog.

Don't forget that we still have a lot of FUN Contests happening over at PCP's SSD Group during our PARTY!

This has been an awesome PARTY! I've had so much FUN, and I've truly enjoyed seeing all of the projects using these Sassy Ladies!  I can't wait to see your creations using Sassy Cassie!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

My wish for you ...

Popping in with a card I made this afternoon for the current Link Up for Pink Challenge #3 using the "My Wish for You" stamp set from Avocado Arts.  I made a Movers/Swing card for the first time with a new die I recently purchased.

I'm loving how this turned out, and I can't wait to use the Sizzix Die again.

I'm also submitting this card to the Avocado Arts 1-Yr Anniversary Challenge on their Facebook Page.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Dare to Be Sassy Thursday Challenge #133

Good morning and welcome to another DTBST Challenge. It's the end of the Month so it's time for our Monthly Christmas Challenge.

This weeks Challenge is to create a Christmas card that has Sparkle & Snow.  So here goes ...
I have to be honest here.  I really had a hard time with this weeks Challenge.  See the temps in Illinois were in the upper 90's last week when I designed my card, and we're heading back there starting today.

After coloring Katniss Girl of Fire Sassy with my Copic Markers I fussy cut her out, added DeNami Very Fine Glitter to her dress and put her on the side.  I also added the glitter to the ends of my Snowflake.   Next, I pulled out my Christmas DP and just couldn't bring myself to use it so I went with the standard red and green with tan cardstock.  Once everything was dry I put the card together and added some Snowflake Rhinestones.

Head on over to the SSD Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created to inspire you, and then join in the FUN for a chance to win a Sassy Image of your own.  Remember, you don't need to use a Sassy Image but we love it when you do!

Don't forget about all the FUN that is happening over at PCP's SSD Group during our PARTY!

I can't wait to see your Christmas projects!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

PCP Sassy in the City Relay - Part III

It's time for the next round of the Sassy in the City Progressive Relay over at the Sassy Studio Designs Blog

The Third image in the set is ... Miranda
This rounds Theme is CAS
(let's see your Clean & Simple project)
Today's Challenge is right up my alley.  This time I colored the entire image with my Copic Markers, fussy cut her out, and popped her onto my CAS background.  The DP is from some candy I won that came outside the package so the brand is not known. ;(

For those who participated in the Second Relay Challenge, this lovely Miranda should be arriving in your emails soon.  The Third Challenge starts at 12:00 AM EDT on Thursday, June 28th and will remain open until 10:00 PM EDT on Friday, June 29th.

Thinking of you ...

Every Friday Sassy Studio Designs gives away a FREE image in the SSD Group over at Paper Craft Planet.  The image is only up for 24-hours.

Before I joined the Design Team I always enjoyed getting these awesome FREEBIE's, and playing along with their 2-wk Challenge.  This week I created a card with the Soda Pop girl that was FREE last Friday, but I didn't really follow the challenge. ;o)
I went with pink overalls in remembrance of my youth! HA!  Me and my friend used to have a pair of pink overalls.  We were both blonds, of course Teena was blonder than me, and our hair was longer.  I used an old sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge Blog for my layout.
As I was designing my card my thoughts were with my friend Laurel Beard whose husband is in the Navy and was deployed about a week ago.  The Lawnscaping Blog has started a new "Hero's Card Drive" similar to Operation Write Home.  I really appreciate what OWH does for our troops and think it is awesome that another group has been started so that the Men/Women in the Navy can have the same opportunity.
This card is one of many that I will be sending off later this week for the "Hero's Card Drive"!  For more information on how you can show your support head on over to The Lawnscaping Blog for all the details!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

PCP Sassy in the City Relay - Part II

The PARTY continues on the Sassy Studio Designs Blog as we share the 2nd image in the Sassy in the City Progressive Relay!
Next up is Sassy Samantha
Theme is Bling
(let's see your blinged out project)
I colored Samantha with my Copic Markers, paper pieced her dress after I stamped some fun dots on the DP.  All that lovely BLING on the sides is from Want2Scrap and it's called Beautiful Black Wave/Silver Bling Strip.  After using my punch on the DP, I added more bling along the curve - Black Bling from Want2Scrap and Clear Twinkle Stickers from A Muse Studio.  The sentiment is from Avocado Arts which I used a Die to cut out, used a Memo Pin from Tim Holtz' Idea-ology collection to hold the sentiment and of course I added some more bling to frame the sentiment.

Here is a close-up of the sentiment ...
I went a little over board with the Bling! This is not the norm for my designs, but I just couldn't stop myself! LOL!

For those of you who participated in the First Relay Challenge using Charlotte, this lovely Samantha will soon be arriving in your email!  The Second Challenge starts at 12:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, June 26th and will remain open until 10:00 PM EDT on Wednesday, June 27th.

I hope you are enjoying the PARTY as much as I am! All the details regarding the requirements for the Sassy in the City Progressive Relay Challenges are located on the Sassy Studio Designs Blog

I've been PUBLISHED!!!

I am SUPER excited that I can finally share with you the card I created in January for the Paper Crafts Stamp It Cards Vol. 9 publication.

I submitted four (4) cards for this publication, and was watching FB as always on the day they announce that emails are going out.  When I saw the "Newbie" e-mail from Susan Opel in February I was so happy. I screamed "Yahoo!!!", laughed, and then told my darling husband who was looking at me like I was a little crazy.  He asked which of my cards was chosen so I pulled it out and showed him.  He was very proud of me!

When I received my copy of the Stamp It Cards Vol. 9 last Thursday along with my card I immediately looked for my card in the publication.  It was pretty cool seeing something I designed in living color in the magazine. I'm still smiling!

My card is under the "Get Well" category located on page 84.

This adorable little guy is from the Wishes & Kind Thoughts stamp set from Avocado Arts which you can find here.  I paper pieced the adorable outfit, did a bit of coloring with my Copic Markers, added some Lemonade Twine from The Twinery to the raincoat, and gave him some googly eyes!  I put a slit between his right wing to put the handle through and popped the umbrella up with 3D Foam Squares.  The clouds were attached with Mini Glue Dots.

I will be picking up a Shadow Box to display both the publication and my card in.  It will be proudly displayed in my craft room.  ;o)

Thank you for the "congratulations" that have already been left on my blog!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

PCP Sassy in the City Progressive Relay

Sassy Studio Designs is having a PARTY to celebrate reaching 700+ members over at the Paper Craft Planet SSD Group

The PARTY is a Progressive Relay Challenge which starts Sunday, June 24th at 12:00 AM EDT and ends on Monday, July 2nd at 12:00 AM EDT.

The exciting part of the challenge is that everyone will have a chance to get four (4) brand new never before seen FREE Sassy ladies.  These Sassy ladies are based on the Sex in the City gals ... Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda!! There will be a different Challenge/Theme for each of these Sassy Ladies.

Once again, Lindsay did an amazing job creating these gorgeous images for us to create with.

First up is Charlotte Sassy
Theme is Fabulous Friends
(make a project focusing on friendship)
I colored Charlotte with my Copic Markers, paper pieced her dress and added some extra color with my Copics.  I love the sentiment from Avocado Arts Springtime Celebrations stamp set.  It's a bit quirky but perfect for sending off a card to a girlfriend.

Now you must be wondering how you get Charlotte Sassy for FREE!

Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created to inspire you, and you can get your image while you're there.

She will only be available until 10:00 PM EDT on Monday, June 25th, when the 1st challenge ends.  That gives you two (2) days to create a project and upload it to the SSD Blog. For each challenge you complete, within the deadline, you will receive the next image via email for FREE.

I created my CAS card based on the current Freshley Made Sketch #40

I hope you will come and join the PARTY!  All the details regarding the requirements for the Sassy in the City Progressive Relay Challenges are located on the Sassy Studio Designs Blog

Thanks bee to thee ...

Popping in to share a card I created for The Play Date Cafe Color Challenge #137 which is a Color Splash! I can honestly say this is one of my favorite challenges!  This week the color scheme is Black & White with a Splash of Blue.  So here goes ...
I inked up my Thanks Bee to Thee stamp set from The Craft's Meow for the first time on Thursday.  I think this set is so adorable and was very excited when I won it from Nina B. Designs Blog.  My splash of blue is the Denim Ribbon from American Crafts.  Love the hexagons and that bee is so cute!  The tag was tied to the ribbon using Charcoal Twine from The Twinery, and I added a Mini Glue Dot to keep the tag where I wanted it to be.

Here is the Color Splash inspirational photo ...

Good morning.  Are you ready for another DTBST Challenge!  I know I am, and this one is so much FUN!

This week were are having "FUN in the Sun" creating Monochromatic projects using "Yellow"!  So here goes ...
Lindsay just released some lovely Sassy Summer images this month, and when I saw Sarong Sassy I couldn't wait to color her with my Copic Markers.  The fun DP is from Jillibean Soup's Homemade 6 Bean Soup 6x6 pack.  Those flowers were perfect for adding yellow rhinestones to their centers.  After attaching the bow and layering on the base card, I popped our Sassy on with Mini Glue Dots and 3D Foam Squares.

This lovely looks like she's been having a lot of fun at the beach with her shimmery Sarong.  For more "Fun in the Sun" inspiration head on over to the SSD Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created, and then join in the FUN for a chance to win some Sassy of your own.  You don't need to use a Sassy image to play along, but we love it when you do.

You are in my thoughts ...

Good morning!  We are heading towards another day of 90+ temps today.  I love the warm weather and plan on sitting on the patio for a bit this morning.  During the hottest part of the day yesterday I went into the basement and got a little crafty.  This week over at CAS-ual Friday's (#57) their challenge is called "Clear as Day" and they want you to use acetate or vellum.
I chose to use vellum for my card.  The flowers were stamped with Orange Ink from A Muse Studio onto Sugar cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment on Vellum from Paper Studio's several times using various inks.  I settled on Versafine Black because it provided a crisp clean look, that was until it dried completely (more on that later).  I put the vellum overlay on top of my design, used my Crop-a-Dile to add orange eyelets in each corner, threaded Denim Twine from The Twinery thru the holes and tied a bow, trimmed the vellum down to size and then attached the design to the basecard.

About an hour after I finished the card, and took my picture, the sentiment no longer looks like it does in the picture.  The sentiment looks blurry now.  I don't know why this happened.  I really did stamp the sentiment with various inks and the Versafine looked the best. Grrr!  I'm wondering if I should have heat set it. ???  I will have to try again because I really love how this card turned out.  Change out the sentiment and you have a lovely set of cards.

I would really love to hear your thoughts about the issue I had with the sentiment. I am open to all suggestions as I really want to make a set of cards with this design.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

TE Calendar Challenge X's 2

This post contains two calendars for the Taylored Expressions Calendar Challenges.  When the June Challenge arrived in my email on Thursday I noticed that I never created my calendar for the May Challenge

I'm guessing that with school ending for Katie, and all the paperwork I was working on for her it just slipped my mind.  So after taking Katie to camp on Friday I sat down to create my Calendar for both months.  I used the "Making it Amazing" stamp set for both of my calendars.

So here goes ...
Other Products used ... Neenah Solar White and A Muse Studio Watermelon cardstock, A Muse Studio Lichen & Burano Ink, Honeydew Twine from The Twinery, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, and my trusty ATG.

Other products used ... Neenah Solar White and A Muse Studio Buttercup cardstock, A Muse Studio Rialto, Fern, Lido & Burano Ink, Elegant Butterflies Die by TE, Buttercream Twine from The Twinery, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, and my trusty ATG.

The calendar used is the 6 x 6 2013 Digital set from Taylored Expressions.  Once I complete the twelve months I will create a stand to hold the calendars, and give them to Katie's teacher for Christmas.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Happiness is having a friend like you ...

I took a break from cleaning up my craft room to create a card with some stamps that I got in 2010, which I just found.  I just knew it would be perfect for the current Freshly Made Sketch #39. So here goes ...
This card actually looks better in person.  After many pictures this was the best I could get. ;(

The stamp set I found is called Spring Mix by Gina K. Designs.  I forgot how much I really like this set and plan to use it more in the near future!

Now here is this weeks sketch ...

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Dare to be Sassy Thursdays Challenge

Welcome to Dare to be Sassy Thursdays Challenge #129. This week we have a sketch created by Kathy Curry to work with.  I love working with sketches and this one was super fun! So here goes ...
My card features the lovely Cocktail Sassy which happens to be one of the newly released SSD images this month.  She was colored with my Copic Markers, fussy cut out, and popped onto the oval and then cut along the bottom.  You wouldn't know she is wearing a bathing suit from this design.
The inside of the card holds the sentiment from Create with TLC.  The sentiment is a perfect match for our party girl!

Okay ... I know you want to see the sketch!
The rest of the Design Team created some amazing projects with this sketch so head on over to the Sassy Studios Design Blog to find out how you can win one of the lovely SSD images.

Sending wishes your way ...

Not much crafting this weekend.  My nephew's H.S. Graduation Party was yesterday.  Today I get to meet my grand-niece Zoe for the first time, and I will pick the hubby up from the airport.  So looking forward to seeing him.  What a happy Sunday it will be! ;o)

Here is a card I created on Friday while Katie was at camp.
I pulled out my new Unity KOTM "Love in an instant" stamp set for the current Sketch over at Chick Challenge #34.  I paper pieced the balloons with some fun colors and I am truly looking forward to playing with these again when Katie goes to back to camp on Monday.

Here is the sketch that was provided ...

This card was made for a very special lady who was a big part of Katie's life while she was the receptionist at Laremont School.  She is going thru a rough time now and I hope this card is uplifting for her.

You should be dancing YEAH!

The Sassy Studio Designs Design Team switched up this month.  I will be sharing the Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge with you every Thursday from now until July 26th.

This weeks challenge is ...
Add a Splash of something wet
(crystal effects, liquid pearls, stickles, liquid applique, etc.)

After coloring this lovely Sock Hop Sweetie 2 with my Copic Markers, she was fussy cut and set aside.  I applied two different mists to a Bazzil Dots White 8x8 cardstock, cut it down to size, and affixed to my card base.  I layed the outline left over from the Macarena Corner Die (Memory Box) and applied a generous amount of Lavender Stickles thru the opening for the corners.  (I let this set overnight to make sure it was completely dry.)  Our Sock Hop Sweetie was popped on the design with Mini Glue Dots and 3D Foam Squares.  The sentiment from Create with TLC was cut with my Oval Die, attached with 3D Foam Squares, and Cotton Candy Stickles was applied around the edges.

Head on over to Sassy Studio Design Blog for all the details about today's challenge, and join in the fun for your chance to win some Sassy Prizes.

Hey! I've been thinking ...

This card was so much FUN to create!  It was a great way to use up some of my scraps I have laying around!  The size is approximately 2-1/2" x 4".  The fishbowl water is paper pieced with white bazzill dots paper that was sprayed with some mists.

Now why use scraps?  Well this was created for the Friday Mashup Challenge #61 which is to use up those scraps you have laying around.

This card will also be added to Avocado Arts FB page for their 1-yr Anniversary Challenge.

Now for the inspiration photo ...

Now this card won't stay in my stash.  I have already put an extra note inside and mailed it to one of my friends.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Products used ... Let's Catch Up stamp set from Avocado Arts, Bazzill & Neenah scraps, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers YR15 & Y08, Fiskars Scissors & Fingertip Blade, 3D Foam Squares and my trusty ATG.

Hey! ...

Happy Monday friends.  The hubby is off to Atlanta for his Annual Meeting and Summer Camp started today for Katie so I had some free time to get crafty.

This card is for the Clean & Simple Challenge #193 Sketch, and this time I read all the details for the challenge. ;o)
I just recently got my Let's Catch Up stamp set in the mail from Avocado Arts and simply love those bubbles!  I combined the sentiments from this set with some of the Zippin By To Say Hi stamp set to create a CAS Father's Day card.

Now for the inspirational photo ...

I will be uploading this card to Avocado Arts FB Page for their 1-yr Anniversary challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

My wish for you ...

We had a glorious day here in Northern Illinois today.  I spent a little time outside but had to finish some things inside to make sure the hubby has all he needs for his trip tomorrow.  While the laundry was going I got some crafting done so it wasn't a bad day! ;o)

Okay, here goes.
When I started this card I had two challenges in mind, and low and behold it became four (4) different challenges.

We have Avocado Arts who is celebrating their 1-yr Anniversary this month.  Michelle is challenging those who have the AA stamps to upload pictures of projects to the Avocado Arts FB Page for a chance to win 1-yrs worth of AA Stamps for FREE.

Then there is the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #55 which is to bling up your project, Crazy 4 Challenge #139 which is to add some butterflies to your project, and the design of my card is based on the Clean & Simple Sketch #193.  I'm not sure my card will qualify for the last as I didn't read that the 3 images were to be different sizes.  Will have to revisit this one.

Now for the inspirational photos ...

I love this card because it can be used for just about any occasion ... birthday, inspirational, even friendship.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Products used ... My Wish For You stamp set from Avocado Arts, Strawberry Splash from Bazzill, Blush from A Muse Studio, and Solar White Cardstock from Neenah, A Muse Studio Bubblegum Pigment Ink, A Muse Studio Twinkle Stickers Micro Dots, Tweezer, 3D Foam Square and my trusty ATG.

Happy Birthday ...

Sassy Studio Design "Ladies Night" Blog Hop is located here.

I found a new Digital Stamp Company called Pixie Dust Studio that has the cutest stamps, so I had to get a couple of them to play with.  So here goes ...

This is "Bubbles the Clown"!  Isn't he adorable?  I colored him with my Copic Markers, fussy cut him out to pop on my design.  The Bright Side DP from Lawn Fawn was a FUN match for him.  The "bubbles" DP was created on white cardstock with Lots of Dots stamp set from A Muse Studio.

I know a little boy who will be turning two (2) soon, and this is perfect for him since he loves to clown around.

As I'm writing this post I hopped around the Pixie Dust Studio Blog and found their challenge blog called Take the Pixie Challenge.   The theme for the current Challenge #129 is "Summer".  You can go with colors or design.  I'm going to go out on limb here and say my design incorporates the colors of Summer and enter the challenge. ;o)

I'm also entering this card for the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Good morning ladies!  Are you ready for some new Sassy images?  Yes!  Then you are in the right place.  We are celebrating Sassy Studio Designs Anniversary/Birthday month with a series of Mini Release Blog Hops every weekend this month.  Awesome right!

So let's get the party started!  Our theme for today's Mini Release is Ladies Night!  Now, you should have arrived at my blog from the ever talented Julie.  If you just arrived to see me and would like to start at the beginning, hop on over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog
There have been so many requests to bring back the "Martini Pin Up" that Lindsay revamped her a little and she is now available to purchase in the store here.  As I started coloring the Martini Pin Up, my daughter Katie kept handing me my Red Copic Markers, er goes the red hair.  I actually colored up 2 versions of our pin up, fussy cut the portion not in the glass, and popped her on with Mini Glue Dots and 3D foam squares.  Glossy Accents was added to the glass, and the pit of the olives.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Blog Hop Order

Now, I hear that one (1) of the images will be given to a random commenter so make sure you leave all the DT ladies some love.

Your next stop on the hop is Shari, and she really did an amazing job with her image!

Thank you for hopping with us!
