Engagement card ...

My daughter-in-law's sister is getting married this year so I created this card for her Engagement Party.

I pulled out my Sassy Fashionista ~ Bella Bride Digital Stamp from Sassy Studio Designs that I had in my files.  She is perfect for Engagement and Wedding cards.  I colored Bella with my Copic Markers and fussy cut her out.  I remembered that I have the Sizzix Tags Die, so I cut out two (2) tags, layered them together, added my ribbon and some pins that were colored with my Copics.  After attached the tags, bling was added, and then Bella was attached with 3D Foam Squares.

Here is another view of the front.

Here is the inside of the card.

Here is the inspiration for the colors I used ... this is part of the "Save the Date" notice we received about the upcoming nuptials.

I'm submitting this card to the Love to Create Challenge #26 ~ Add a Tag.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Dare to Be Sassy Thursday #135

It's the last Thursday of the month for the Sassy Studio Designs DTBST Challenge so it's time for our Monthly Christmas Challenge.

... let's see 3 or more Design Paper in your creation ...

I've had Santa's Helper printed up for some time now, and new she would be perfect for this challenge.  So I colored her with my Copic Markers.  Actually, each part of the image was colored separately, cut out and paper pieced together.

Here's a close-up of Santa's Helper.
You can find here in the store here.
After coloring the present I used a silver Gel Pen to create the pattern, and for the bells on her outfit.  A Copic Marker (R29) was used to create freckles for my redheaded elf.  ;o)

Here is the card opened up ...

I used three different DP from the Memory Box Yuletide collection.

Hop on over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to see all the lovely inspiration that the rest of the Design Team created.  Remember, you don't need to use a Sassy image to join in the FUN.  I look forward to seeing your creations.

Note ... This is my last week working on the DTBST Challenges as we are switching the Design Team(s) up again.  Next Friday, August 3rd, I'll be working with Regan on the Paper Craft Planet SSD Group Freebie Friday's Design Team.  Each week a FREE image is available for 24-hrs to our Sassy Fans, and I am looking forward to showing you these Sassy Ladies over the next 2-months!

I am also entering this card for the My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #63 ~ Christmas in July!
Until next time ... Enjoy!

Smile ...

Here is the second image I colored last night, which I used for the current Sketches by Carly #61.
I believe this adorable "Past Bedtime" Digital Stamp from Pixie Dust Studio is very appropriate for the challenge. This lovely image was colored with my Copic Markers, fussy cut out, and layered onto my card.  I even colored an extra bow and popped it on with 3D Foam.

Past Bedtime is a FREEBIE right now over at Pixie Dust Studio's FB Group Page.

Now for the sketch ...

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Celebrate ...

This CAS card was created for the current CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #62 ~ Back in Black.  I really love that song so thank you for bringing back some fond memories.

I used the sketch from Waltzingmouse Challenge #107 and just realized that I need to use one of their stamps to submit for their challenges.  They offer a couple Free Digital stamps, so I will have to revisit this challenge before Friday. ;o)

When I saw this sketch I knew it was time to pull out the stamp set  I won from CAS-ual Friday's 1-yr Anniversary.  We have Savor Sweet Cupcakes from Simon Says Stamp which I paper pieced.  I figured this card can be used for either a birthday or celebration for a promotion or a new job.  Will probably end up being a birthday card.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Black Paper from my stash, A Muse Studio Lemon Whip cardstock, Bazzill and Neenah Solar White scraps, Charcoal Twine from The Twinery, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink from Tim Holtz, Dauber, Craft - Mini & Micro Glue Dots, 3D Foam Square and my trusty ATG.

LUFP Challenge #4

This card was created for the current Link Up For Pink Challenge #4.  A sketch was provided for this months challenge, which I will show you in a bit.

I really wanted to use this lovely "Hope Awareness Fairy" stamp from Paper Make Up that I won last month from LUFP, so I turned the sketch to accommodate her size.  The Fairy was colored with my Copic Markers, and Star Dust Stickles was added to her wings.

Here is the sketch ...

If this is the first time you're seeing this sketch and challenge you still have time to play along.  The challenge doesn't close until August 2nd.  Go here for all the details.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Thinking of you ...

I saw over on Facebook that Meljen's Designs has an open Design Team call going on now.  Their images are simply adorable so I figured I would start out with something small for their current Challenge #119 ~ ATC.

While I was waiting for my shipment of Neenah Solar White cardstock, I went thru my images that were already printed and found this adorable "Sweet Little Donkey".  There were two images that were already colored but I realized the cardstock that I used was not the best.  There was a lot of bleeding around this sweetie so I fussy cut him out, and layered him on top of the other colored image.

Here is another view to show the 3D effect from my layering.
The sentiment is also from Meljen's.

I think this was one of the first projects that I colored with my Copic Markers over a year ago.  Looking at it now I can see what I would do differently! ;o)

My Neenah cardstock arrived today and I've already printed a couple more images.  Hmm ... wonder if the hubby will let me color tonight.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

New Blog Design ...

I've been wanting to update my blog lately with something that jumps out at you.  A friend suggested I check out Leelou Blogs.  They offer FREE Templates and Backgrounds for blogger's like me who are HTML illiterate, and they also provide instructions on how to upload the templates. ;o)

Thank you Tina {Crafty and Green} for the hook-up!

I have a couple projects I created yesterday so I'll be back a little later!

Thank You cards ...

Today I have two different set of cards to share with you using the Mare and Foal (18012) stamp from Rubber Stamps by QKR Stampede.

When I saw the Mare and Foal I just knew I had to create some Thank You cards for my daughter-in-law.  She is a big horse lover.  My son and his wife just moved into their new home, and I knew they would be needing some Thank You cards.

The first thing I did was color the adorable Mare & Foal with my Copic Markers.  I then cut them out as you see here.
In order to make my mass production easier I scanned my colored image in Color and in Grayscale, and saved it to my computer.  I then brought the image into MS Word, sized it appropriately and printed out six copies in Color (2 copies on each page).
I cut the image down to size, used various Distress Inks from Tim Holtz for the background, and attached it to my card base.
I really loved how the Grayscale image looked so I created a set of cards with this version.
Once again I used the same Distress Inks from Tim Holtz for the background, and attached it to the card base.  It looks so different with the Grayscale image.
The Thank You (20002) sentiment is also from QKR Stampede.  I used the digital version and brought it into MS Word, added a colored frame around the sentiment, printed, cut out and popped on the finished design with 3D Foam Squares.

I did leave one of each color without a sentiment just in case my daughter-in-law wanted to use it for something else.

Both of the images showcased today are available in rubber and digital format.  The links for each are part of the image name.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

We moved into our new home ...

Good Morning and WELCOME to the QKR Stampede Blog Hop to introduce our NEW Design Team.  There are a variety of different projects being showcased today by the Design Team using Digital Stamps.

If you arrived here from Michelle M., then you're on the right track.  However, if you just arrived, you'll want to start at the QKR Stampede Blog so that you can see all of the wonderful projects created by the Design Team.

My son recently moved into his new house he had built and I knew these lovely Birdhouses would be perfect to create a card to Congratulate him and his wife.  This card was featured on the QKR Stampede Blog this past Tuesday, which you can see here.  But that is not all I did with this image.  Let's start at the beginning shall we. ;o)

I colored the Birdhouses with my Copic Markers, cut the image out and then scanned it into my computer.  After scanning the image I pulled it into MS Word to create Change of Address Announcements for my son and his wife.
How did I create this announcement you ask?
... After pulling the image into MS Word I added a frame around the birdhouse. Next up was to create a text box for my sentiment with a shadow border to match the frame color, and then I created another text box for their new address. Going this route made it so much easier to mass produce 25 announcements. I printed all the copies on Solar White 80# cardstock from Neenah, cut them down to size and applied Forest Moss Distress Ink from Tim Holtz around the edges.

Lauren chose to have the announcements go out as postcards so I left the extra cardstock off of their 25 copies so they wouldn't get ruined in the mail.  Postcard size is 5-1/4" x 4-1/4".

The original image that I colored was used to create the card.

Your next stop is Sara Paschal.

Make sure you stop by the QKR Stampede Blog at the end of the Blog Hop to let us know what you thought of today's Hop!  Then head on over to the QKR Stampede Store to see all of the lovely Digital Images available.  You don't work with Digital Stamps you say!  All of the images are available as unmounted, natural red rubber stamps.  The best of both worlds for all us crafty stampers!

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy the Blog Hop as much as I know I will!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Dare to be Sassy Thursday #134

This weeks Sassy Studio Designs DTBST #34 is perfect for the heat wave we've been having.

... so let's "Hit the Beach"!

The timing for this weeks challenge is perfect for the new Beach Scene images released in June.  I went with "Polka Dot Bikini Sassy" which you can find in the store here.  She was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut out.  I really love the tan I gave her.  Reminds me of my younger years when I could tan like this. LOL!  The DP is from Fancy Pants Design Beach Babe set, and the sentiment is from Create with TLC.

The Design Team created some amazing projects to inspire you, so head on over to the SSD Blog to see their creation and get all the rules!  Remember you don't need to use a Sassy image to join in the Summer FUN!

It's July Sneak Peak week over at the Sassy Studio Designs Blog, so make sure you check out these lovelies and remember to come back on Saturday, July 21st, for the Sassy Release Party.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Sassy Preview ...

Good morning ladies!  I am super excited to share with you the next preview of the new release from Sassy Studio Designs.  This month Lindsay really outdid herself by Honey creating images from around the world.

This lovely is called "Canada Honey", and she will be available in the store on Saturday.  I have to admit I wasn't sure how I would showcase this lovely so I did some research, and then I checked out my collection of stamps.

Canada Honey was colored with my Copic Markers and cut out. Since our USA Honey was already previewed I thought it would be kinda cool to include the work USA in my design.  The background and signage were created with stamps in my stash.  I created the flag by cutting out the Maple Leaf from the hat on our Honey.

Here is a close up of Honey.

The rest of the Design Team created some amazing projects to inspire you so head on over to the Sassy Studio Design Blog to check them out.  While your there scroll down to check out the rest of the previews of our new Country Honey's.

Once the previews are done on Friday, we are hosting a Release Party Blog Hop on Saturday, July 21st.

See you to tomorrow with a new Dare to Be Sassy Thursday Challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Smile ...

Katie decided she wanted to play in the basement today so I was able to create a card for CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #61 ~ use strips of paper in your CAS card.  So here goes ...

With the heat wave we have going on here in Northern Illinois I decided to create a card featuring the sun!  My starting point was scraps of Beach Babe DP from Fancy Pants Designs.  I cut the scraps down to 1/4" each and laid it out on my table, and I liked it.  It brought a smile to my face hence the sentiment so I went with my initial thoughts and created a ray of sunshine!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

I thought of you today ...

This is the last card I created today before rushing off to pick Katie up from camp today.  I really wanted to finish it before I left.  Made it with 5-mins to spare.

We have a variety of challenges that this card was created for ...
Moxie Fab World ~ hexagons

I combined hexagon dies with Avocado Arts hexagon frame plus A Muse Studio stamps.  After stamping the vase, I placed a mask over the image to stamp the hexagon frame, and then I paper pieced the vase and flower.

Here is a close up of the hexagon frame ...

Now for the inspirational photos ...

This was created for Just Us Girls Challenge #145.  This week they are challenging us to "Try the faux window technique. So here goes ...

I pulled out my Unity KOTM {sweet summer love} for this challenge.  I remember looking out the window as a child watching for the ice cream truck to come down the street.

I colored the adorable ice cream truck with my Copic Markers, and used a Spica Clear Pen pen for the headlights and taillights.  It's hard to see in the photo but this little bit of extra pops on the card.

3 Cheers for you!

I got this cool image for FREE from Dude Time Doodles and knew I just had to play along with their current July's Guest Designer/Freebie Challenge.  So here goes ...

This guy is called "Jimmy Gymnasti".  I colored him and the horse with my Copic Markers and fussy cut him out.  As you can see I went with the colors of our awesome USA team with my red, white & blue theme!  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

My design is based on the current Freshly Made Sketches #43, and here is what it looks like.

I'll be giving this card to my nephew who turns 18 soon.  I know he's not a gymnastic, but he is totally into body building.

Dare to be Sassy Thursday #133

Good morning! Are you ready for another Sassy Studio Design DTBST Challenge.  This weeks challenge is one of my favorite kind of challenges.  Can you guess what it is.  Okay, here goes.

Challenge #133 is a Sketch created by the very talented Kathy Curry.
Now here is my take on the sketch ...

This lovely is called "Little Honey - Cupcake Honey" and you can find her in the store here.  The first step I took was to print Cupcake Honey on Neenah Solar White cardstock, and on two different DP.  The cupcake holder and her dress were paper pieced, with the addition of some Copics to her dress.  The rest of Cupcake Honey was colored with my Copic Markers, while the candle was colored with a Sky Blue Spica Pen, White and Metallic Gelly Roll Pen.  Crystal Stickles were added to the candle for more shimmer and along the bottom of the flag.  Once again I did quite a bit of fussy cutting for my creation.  The sentiment is from A Muse Studio.

I was going for masculine when I created this card so I could give it to my son for his 26th birthday last Friday.  We celebrated his birthday by helping him move into his new house.  That is the last time I do that in 105 degree weather! It was a hot one!

I would love to see your interpretation of this weeks Sketch.  All the details about the challenge, and some amazing projects by the rest of the Design Team are over at the Sassy Studio Designs Blog.  Remember, you don't need to use a Sassy image to participate!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Roses from QKR Stampede ...

Good morning! I have two cards to share with you today using the QKR Stampede Roses.  The stamp is available in three different formats ... large rubber (23301) ... small rubber (23302) ... and digital (digi23301).

The first card is a Flip Card.

The sentiment is from QKR Stampede also and it's titled Thinking of You which is available in two different formats ... rubber (11701) ... and digital (digi11701).

For my second card using the Roses I used a sketch from Let's Capture These Sketches (#26) and submitted it for their Design Team call.

After coloring the roses with my Copic Markers I used my Nestabilities circle die to cut out the image and applied some Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint from Tim Holtz to the design.  I was trying for a stained glass look to the design.  You can see it in person but I'm sorry to say it doesn't show up in the picture. :(

Here is the sketch I worked with ...

The Roses and the Thinking of You sentiment are both available in the QKR Stampede Store.  The link to each item is part of the stamp name listed above.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
