Sassy Fabulous Freebie Friday ...

Good morning!  It's Friday and that means a brand new Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday over in our Paper Craft Planet Group, and today is the start of a NEW Challenge for our followers.

Support the Girls
(In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month we are offering you 2 amazing images
to create a project offering encouragement or support, and if you use pink
you will get a bonus entry .)

Lindsay's is so generous to offer two stamps for this weeks challenge, and they are perfect for today's project!  I so very proud to present you with "I'm a Survivor" and "Think Pink"!

When using Digital Stamps I always pull my image into MS Word, re-size them to my desired size, and print them on Neenah Solar White cardstock.  Now the "Think Pink" sentiment stamp is in Black so I used my word processor to change the color of the text to Pink.

I'm a Survivor was colored with my trusty Copic Markers, and I separated the sentiment from the image before adding to my design which is based on the current i(heart)2stamp September 2012 Sketch.

I hope you head on over to the SSD Group to see the inspirational projects the rest of the Design Team created.  This is truly an inspirational week and they did an amazing job!  Remember, these images are only available for 24-hours!

It is so hard to believe that it will be October in only 3-days, and Sassy Studio Designs will be announcing their NEW Design Team. These past 6-months have been simply amazing!

Thank you for stopping by.  Wishing you and yours a marvelous weekend.  I know I will have one as the hubby and I are celebrating our 28th Anniversary tomorrow, and I have to say I'm really happy that I found this amazing man who loves me enough to deal with all my crafting.  He is the best and so supportive of all I do.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

CDAC Progressive Challenge #20

I received this cool image for the current CDAC Progressive Challenge #20, and I'm happy to say that I was able to get my card made before the deadline of September 30th.

This image is called Bat Cat Dark by Priscilla Styles.  I colored the image and then proceeded to cut each part of the image out, and pieced it back together.  I colored the cat to match the colors of Bistro, my son's cat, and I can say I got close.  ;o)

This card will be going to my son for Halloween!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Halloween Inspiration ...

I'm over on the Meljen's Design Team & Challenge Blog today with a Halloween Inspirational post showcasing one of the new stamps released this month.  When I saw Witchy Shoe Kitty I just had to play with her ... she is sooo adorable.

I let the Kitty be the main focus of my card so I can use it for any occasion ... Halloween, birthday, thank you, or just a note card.  She was colored with my Copic Markers and I used a Gelly Roll Clear Star Pen to color in the stars, for the swirls, and to add some shine on the image.  Distress Ink was applied around the edges, and then popped on my background.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

I really wanted to create a card featuring Moody for France but I didn't have any crafting supplies that brings to mind Paris.  What to do?  Well I just had to go shopping at Archiver's and see what they had, and picked up this Vintage Traveler Stamp Set by Our Craft Lounge.  I like the simplicity of the Eifel Tower and it looks great behind Moody.

Ready for Fall ...

This is my 2nd post today, please scroll down
for my Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday post.

Good morning and TGIF!  Super excited for the weekend to arrive, but until then I have a new QKR Stampede Challenge for you.

Challenge #6 ~ Fall Fun

I just had to use this fun and quirky Digital Stamp from QKR called As Bears Do, which is also available in rubber.  I thought he represented what a Bear would be doing during this time of year.  He's outside reading his newspaper while sitting under a tree, and he's more than ready for some cooler weather. LOL!

I printed 2-copies of this this fun image, colored one in it's entirety with my Copic Markers and then only the toilet paper roll from the second copy.  Both were cut out and attached to the background I created with an Embossing Folder, Crafting Tape, and Leaf Die.  The  "Ready for Fall" stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps can be found here.

The rest of the Design Team created some awesome projects to inspire you, so don't forget to head on over to the QKR Blog to see their projects and get all the details about this weeks Challenge.

Remember that you can use any type of Rubber or Digital Stamp to participate in our Challenges. All we ask is that you have FUN and submit a NEW project, no back-linking.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Neenah Solar White, Core Cards Dark (brown), Orange Halloween paper from Target, Bazzill scraps, Cuttlebug Pinking Stitch Embossing Folder, Poppy Stamps Gentle Leaf Die, Recollections Crafting Tape, Mini Glue Dots, 3D Foam Squares, and my trusty ATG.

Sassy Fabulous Freebie Friday ...

It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Sassy Studio Designs FREEBIE over at our Paper Craft Planet SSD Group.

Today starts the second week of our ...

Orange You Glad It's Fall Challenge!
(use orange as a primary color on your project. It can be combined with a maximum
of 3 other colors, not including neutrals (black, white, gray brown, kraft)
which may be used as desired.

This week we bring you the super cute stamp called "Fall Fun"!  She is perfect for our current Challenge.  When I saw her I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  She was colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut out.  I even cut out the group of leaves in the grass and each leaf you see floating around her.  It was a LOT of work, but soooo worth it.  I popped all of the pieces onto the background I created using a mixture of Mini Glue Dots and 3D Foam Squares.

Here's a closer look at our Sassy girl ...

Copic Markers: E00, E11 & E13 (skin), BG18 (eyes), C9, C7, C3 & C1 (hair), E15, E18 & YR14 (shirt & shoes),
YR07, YR07 & YR04 (pants)

My daughter-in-law, Lauren, requested a Bridal Shower card for her sister Leslie.  The theme is "Autumn" since the shower is being held tomorrow, on the 1st day of Autumn.  I though this would be an awesome, non-traditional, Bridal Shower card and Lauren agreed with me.  She really loved it and I'm sure Leslie won't be getting any cards that look like this.  Well Lesley will be getting another Fall Themed card from me. ;o)

The rest of the Sassy Designers created some gorgeous projects to inspire you this week. So head on over to the SSD Group to see their projects, grab your FREE image, and join in the FUN! Remember "Fall Fun" is only available for 24-hours.

NOTE: You only have 2 more days left to get your Application in for the current Sassy Studio Designs Design Team Call ~ deadline for submissions is Sunday, September 23rd.  Head on over to the SSD Blog for all the details.

Funny Bone Challenge ...

Today is the start of Meljen's Design Challenge #130

This week our Challenge is called "Funny Bones"
(we want to see use using a funny verse or poem on your project)

I used the adorable Granny Wolf for my card today.  She was colored with Copic Markers, applied distress ink to the background, Gelly Roll Clear Star Pen was applied to the swirls and dots, and 3D Crystal Lacquer applied to the lens.

After choosing Granny I wanted to create my own sentiment but include some of the words you would see in the "Little Red Riding Hood" book.  Here is what I came up with ...

Red ... so happy that you came by to feed me!
GULP!!!"

Copic Markers: E35, E37, E09 & E51 (mouse), YG03, YG17 & YG13 (overalls), YR04, YR07 & YR09 (shirt & shoes)

I pulled the colors I used from his outfit for my background, added yellow and some fun DP from Lawn Fawn's Bright Side collection.  Die cut some clouds to add behind the balloons with the Birthday sentiment from Avocado Arts, and added some Recollections Pearls to finish off the design.

The "Fly Away Mouse" is available in both Digital and Rubber in the QKR Store

You color my world ...

After cleaning up my craft room yesterday I decided to play along with the current CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #70 with some new stamps I found buried on my table.  The joys of cleaning! ;o)

This card features the stamps from Unity August 2012 KOTM (Colors of the Seasons).  I went with the paint can & brush vs. the crayons in the set because the hubby and I will be painting a couple of the rooms in our house very soon.  We just need to pick up the rest of the paint from my son's house this weekend.  I love that he works for Valspar!

None of the paint we're getting is red but I felt this was very appropriate for my hubby.  We will be celebrating our 28th Anniversary later this month, and he truly does color my work!  Now to figure out what I'll put on the inside! ;o)

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Neenah Solar White, Onyx & Cherry cardstock from A Muse Studio, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Copic Markers, Red Spica Pen, Scissors, Mini Glue Dots, 3D Foam Squares and my trusty ATG.

Welcome Autumn ...

Today's card was created using the Color it Autumn Digital Stamp Set from
Paper Makeup Stamps.  It was the first stamp set that popped into my mind when I saw this weeks Digi Makeover Challenge #54.

Fall is just around the corner so we would love to see your
"FALL" inspired projects this week.

There are a total of 7 images in the Color it Autumn Stamp Set, and my design incorporates 2 of the pumpkins and 1 of the leaves.  I really love working with Digital Stamps because it allows me to change the size and flip the image for my needs.

The stamps were colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut out, and layered on my background.  This card is for a Bridal Shower that is on the 22nd.  The theme for the Shower is "First Day of Autumn".  I hand wrote a sentiment on the inside for the Bride-to-Be.

Head on over to
Digi Makeover, check-out what the rest of the Design Team created, welcome this week's Guest Designer Tina Keller of the Crafty & Green Blog, and join in the FUN for a chance to win 3 Digital Stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps.

The only requirement to play along with the Digi Makeover Challenges beside the obvious, is that you must use a Digital Stamp for your project. After all it is a Digital Challenge. ;o)

I am also entering this card in the Crazy 4 Challenge #154 ~ Anything Goes with a Fall Twist.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Sassy Fabulous Freebie Friday ...

It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Sassy Studio Designs FREEBIE over at our Paper Craft Planet SSD Group.

We have a new Challenge for you this week, and I hate to say this but it really fits the weather going on here in Northern Illinois.  Brrrr!  The high yesterday was 62-degrees and dropped down to the 40's overnight. I'm really not ready for this weather!  Okay, enough of that ... here is this weeks Challenge!

Orange You Glad It's Fall!
(use orange as a primary color on your project.  It can be combined with a maximum
of 3 other colors, not including neutrals (black, white, gray brown, kraft)
which may be used as desired.

This Sassy lady is a brand NEW never before scene image!  She is called "Pin-Up Teacher", and I have to say she is one sexy teacher!!!

The Pin-Up Teacher was colored with my Copic Markers, and fussy cut out to attach to my design.  The cream colored tag was colored with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink from Tim Holtz with a dauber.

Here's a closer look of the Pin-Up Teacher ...

Copic Markers:  E51 & E30 (skin), E09, YR24, YR23, YR21 & Y21 (hair), B06 (eyes), E11 & Y38 (lips),

Red Spica Pen & Gelly Roll Clear Star Glitter Pen (belt, showes, glasses, bracelet, necklace)
Orange Spica Pen (pencil)

As you can see her dress is a very dark orange.  I forget the color challenge was "Orange" so I applied orange over my red to get the color of my dress.

Sassy Fabulous Freebie Friday ...

This is my second post today, please scroll down for my
QKR Stampede Challenge #4!

Welcome to another Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday over at our Paper Craft Planet SSD Group.  This is the 2nd week of our School is in Session Challenge.

This Sassy lady is called "Backpack Brandy".  She was colored with my Copic Markers, fussy cut out and layered onto the background I created using product that I found laying around in my craft room.  The school house was created from an old stencil, just like the flag and megaphone.  All the items were layered onto the plaid background and card before attaching Brandy to the design.

This card was created while I was in a bit of a creativity slump, but I really didn't have any time to create something new so I hope you like it. ;o)

Here is a close-up of Brandy ...
Copic Markers: E00 & E21 (skin), E37, E35, YR14 & YR24 (hair), R81, R83, R85 & RV69 (clothes),
B02, B04 & B06 (backpack), BG23 (eyes), B000 & W00 (makeup)
Gelly Roll Clear Star Pen was used for the lace on her outfit.

The rest of the Sassy Designers created some gorgeous projects to inspire you this week. So head on over to the SSD Group to see their projects, grab your FREE image, and join in the FUN! Remember "Backpack Brandy" is only available for 24-hours.

QKR Back to School Challenge ...

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you had a marvelous week and you're ready for a new QKR Stampede Challenge.

Challenge #4 is
... Back to School ...

For my project I used this adorable Book Bear which is available in Rubber and Digital format.  Now the Digital version contains a sentiment along the bottom "This book belong to", but the Rubber version is available with and without the sentiment.

As you can see I didn't use the sentiment for my project.  After coloring this adorable bear I fussy cut him out to add to my design.  The school house, 123 and ABC are stickers that I've had laying around my house for quite some time.  The class listing with check marks was written by me, and the background behind the bear is washi tape.

Here's a closer look at the adorable Bear ...

Copic Markers: E35 & E37 (bear), YR04, YR07 & YR09 (shirt), B00, B02 & B06 (jeans), R29 (tongue),
and the books were colored w/various colors.

The rest of the Design Team created some awesome projects to inspire you, so don't forget to head on over to the QKR Blog to see their projects and get all the details about this weeks Challenge.

Every Thursday there is a NEW Challenge for you to play along with.

This week our Challenge is #126
... Back to School ...
which is very appropriate for this time of year

I combined two of the Meljen's stamps for today's project ... we have Checkered Apple Frame and Book Girl.

I printed both stamps, colored them with my Copic Markers, and fussy cut them out.  I actually cut out the inside of the frame so that I could place some Slate cardstock behind the frame to the create a chalkboard.  I added some twine for the stars to hang from, attached Book Girl with Glue Dots & 3D Foam Squares, popped a 3D Foam Square under the small star, and then used a Gellyroll Clear Star Pen to outline the girl.  I added some Graph Paper onto Cherry cardstock, and then popped on the my combined stamps with Glue Dots & 3D Foam Squares with the final touch of adding the gem for her earring.

Here's a closer look at Book Girl ...
Copic Markers: E00, E02 & E11 (skin), Yr14, YR24, YR23 & YR31 (hair), RV14, RV69 & RV66 (shirt & hair tie),
B95, B99 & B28 (skirt & shoes), E35 & E09 (book bag)

I really enjoyed putting this card together and it will be perfect for Katie's teacher.
