Halloween Treats ...

Good morning!  I realized yesterday that I hadn't completed Katie's Halloween Treats for her classmates because her teacher didn't get back to me with the number of students in her class.  I called yesterday afternoon, found out her teacher wasn't in but they were able to tell me the number of students in her class.  So it's 2:40pm, and I have 6 treat packages to make.  Here is what I created ...

I saw another crafter, brain is blank right now, who created these treat boxes and I asked where she got the directions for them.  She sent me to Splitcoast Stampers, and I found a dozen versions of this treat / nugget box.  Of course, when I went back today I only found instructions to create the one I made so go here for all the details.

The Halloween sentiment is from DeNami Design, the pumpkin is a QuicKutz Die that I stamped the face from Avocado Arts Thankful for You stamp set and added the googly eyes, and the leaves are Floral Embellishments from Recollections. The "Katie" stamp is what she used at school to stamp her paperwork during High School.  It hasn't been used for a while so it didn't stamp very well, and I had to use a Black Copic Marker to go over her name.  The "from" is hand written.

The twine was used to hold the tag with Katie's name, but it was also used to make sure the boxes stayed closed during transportation in her backpack. ;o)

I had one extra box, shown above, that I hadn't put candy in yet.  Each box that Katie is giving to her classmates has 3 miniature Kit Kats in them.

Here's a picture of all 6 boxes ready to go.

These were so easy and fun to make, and I know that Katie will love handing these out to her classmates.

I am entering these treats into the following challenges ...

My Craft Spot Challenge #75 ~ Too Cute to Spook!
Sentimental Sunday's Challenge #126 ~ Pumpkins
Our Craft Lounge Challenge #140 ~ 3D Project for Halloween or Fall
Anything but a Card Challenge #5 ~ Incorporate Black into Your Project

Challenges 4 Everybody Challenge #6 ~ Anything Goes

Until next time ... Enjoy!

The farmer ...

Happy Halloween to all my friends in the US.  As I write this post it is Sunday afternoon, and the Trick-or-Treater's are out in full force.  Our community always has Trick-or-Treating the Sunday before Halloween, unless Halloween lands on a weekend, so that the children go out during the day.  This is done for safety reasons.  I love that this happens during the day ... truly don't miss the doorbell ringing after 9pm when I lived in Chicago.

I'm over on the QKR Stampede Blog today sharing this adorable farmer ...

The farmer doesn't have a name yet, but he is located in the QKR Store as digi24241.  He was colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut out.  Added some sparkly pumpkins with vines to the layout and we're done!

The sparkly pumpkins were created with Bling on a Roll from Recollections that I put on scrap cardstock, and then cut out with a Pumpkin Die.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Spring Dance Scrapbooking ...

Good morning ... today I'm over at Tanner Bell Designs Blog sharing these pages that I created for Katie's scrapbook.

Since Katie graduated from High School, and is now in the Transition Program for Special Needs Adults she doesn't get to go to Prom.  It was a lovely surprise to find out that every year in the Spring the Transition Group hosts a "Spring Dance".  Today's layouts feature Katie and her best friend.

The background was created with the Diamond Grunge stamp from Tanner Bell Designs Diamond/Chevron Grunge Stamp Set.  I pulled three of the colors from Katie's dress to use for the background.

Here is a closer look at each page ...

The sentiments used are vellum from DCWV , the Flowers are from Kaiser Craft, and the Faux Pearls are from Recollections.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

A Rose Fairy ...

Good morning.  This weeks Digi Makeover Challenge #60 is all about "Lots of Layers".

I am always challenged with this type of challenge. Sometimes I can put lot of layers on a card, and other times it is a struggle. LOL!  So here is what I came up with ...

Today's card features the sweet Rose Fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps.  I printed Rose 2-x's, colored one with Copic Markers and fussy cut her out, applied Distress Ink to the second copy, and layered the colored image on top. Once this part was done, I was stuck!!! True, it took me over an hour to figure out how to add all the layers.  There aren't many, but I'm liking the final design.  No sentiment means this card can be used for any occasion.

I know that many of you are awesome at creating cards with "Lots of Layers" so why not join in the FUN, and link up your new project at the Digi Makeover Challenge Blog. The only requirement is that you use a Digital Stamp. You can find all of the requirements on the Blog, and while you're there check out what the rest of the Design Team created.

On another note.  Today's is my last post as a Digi Makeover Designer!  I have truly enjoyed my time working with these talented ladies and wish them all the best.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Dare to be Sassy Thursday #148 ...

Good morning! I've had a pretty rough start to my week, so I'm very happy it's Thursday and I can begin this week behind me.  With that said, I have a new Sassy Studio Designs Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge to share with you today.  It is the last Thursday of the month so this weeks Challenge is all about Christmas, with a little twist.

DTBST Challenge #148
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month
we would like to see your Pink Christmas Project.

This lovely lady is called Sexy Santa.  She is absolutely gorgeous and I truly enjoyed coloring her.  The background was created with Queen & Co. Trendy Tape that I picked up at Archiver's specifically for this challenge.  I layered the tape in two different directions to line up the design to create the "X's" on the tag ... see I needed to have green in my design. I also made the background ovals green ... it really makes the pink pop!

Since I only used a portion of the stamp I  decided to share a picture of Sexy Santa in all her glory ...

I have to be truly honest here about the Gift Tag I created. I love how it turned out, but I really had a hard time creating a "Pink Christmas Project" to inspire you this week.  Now the projects created by the rest of the Sassy Designers are simply amazing so hop on over to the Sassy Studio Blog for all the details on how you can win some Sassy Studio Designs Stamps.

Here's to hoping that you share your Pink Christmas projects with us this week.

I am submitting this Pink Tag for the Copic Oz "It's Time to Think Pink" Challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Thanks ...

Good morning.  It's Card Making Day over on the Tanner Bell Designs Blog, and I have a sweet card to share with you today.

With the blah weather we've been having here in Northern Illinois I really needed to make a card that is bright & cheerful.  A little pick-me-up!  So here goes ...

The adorable puppy is called Heidi, and she was colored with Copic Markers. The cool background was created with the new Hello Hexagons stamp, and the sentiment is from the It's a Baby stamp set.

All of the stamps shown today are available in the Tanner Bell Designs Store, and the It's a Baby stamp set is on Sale right now!

Wishing you a bright & sunny day!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Grateful for You ...

This is my third post today, please scroll down for
the Digi Makeover Challenge & the PDC Challenge post

I'm super excited for Michelle, the Owner of the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge Blog.  She has designed/started a NEW Stamp Company called CAS-ual Friday's Stamps that are perfect for creating those CAS cards.  The announcement about the new company came last Friday, and she is sharing Sneak Peaks on the CAS-ual Friday's Blog of the new stamps she designed!  So make sure you hop on over to see them.

Now here is the card I created for this week's Challenge #75 ~ "Over the Edge".

My inspiration for today's card is those lovely leaves.  These leaves from Bazzill have been sitting on my craft table for a couple of months now, and once I saw the "Over the Edge" challenge I knew they were the perfect fit.  Combine them with Mandarin Twine from the Twinery, and stamps from the Avocado Arts Grateful Season stamps set.  This went together so quickly, and I really love how it turned out.

My design is based on the current CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #2.

I'm really loving this new challenge blog.  If you're a follower of my blog you know that this is the 3rd card I've created for this sketch.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

I'm sure many of you know that The Play Date Cafe Challenge is celebrating their 3-Yr Anniversary.  I don't always play along with the weekly, but really wanted to show my support for this weeks Challenge #154

So here goes ...

Even though the inspiration picture is of a lovely summer evening, the colors inspired me to create this Christmas Card.  I pulled out my never used "Leave a Lasting Impression" stamp set from Taylored Expressions, and combined theme with some AMS Ink and Distress Ink from Tim Holtz to create this card.

The design was based on the current CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #2.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Weather Report is calling for rain ...

Good morning.  I hope everyone had a marvelous weekend.  I went to a wedding Friday night, and I'll share the card I created a bit later today.  The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet.  I had some time to craft while the laundry was going yesterday.  Will share those cards later today.

I have a new Digi Makeover Challenge to help get your week of crafting started.

It's that time of year here in Northern Illinois.  One day it's raining, the next day is sunny, and then comes the colder temperature and more rain.  Gotta love Autumn!

It was a cold rainy day when I decided to use the Emma Fairy Digital Stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps for today's challenge.  Coloring her with the bright colors cheered me up, and I stayed with the bright cheerful colors for my layout.

Me design for today's card is based on the lovely sketch from iSpy Sketches Challenge #38.

I would love to see how your local "Weather Report" inspires you, so why not get crafty and link up your new project at the Digi Makeover Challenge Blog. The only requirement is that you use a Digital Stamp on your project. You can find all of the requirements on the Blog, and while you're there check out what the rest of the Design Team created.

I'm also submitting my card to the following challenges ...
 - iSpy Sketches Challenge #38, sketch
 - One Stop Craft Challenge #201, Anything Goes

Until next time ... Enjoy!

My design for today's card is based on this week's

my Playing in Paradise Guest Designer post.

******************************

Good morning!  I'm back to share a new QKR Stampede Challenge #10 and it's a FUN ONE!  We are all about Animal Madness this week, and I have two (2) cards to share with you today so be patient as I share my designs.

This grumpy old man is hilarious and he is called Old Goat [17106]. LOL!  He's available in Digital and Red Rubber.

I just had to get him to create a card for my brother-in-law's birthday.  It's coming up real soon so it will be going in the mail this weekend.  Two copies were printed/colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut out, and popped inside the Jasmine Frame with the flowers.  The sentiment is from TLC Creations and was the perfect match for this Old Goat!

Here is a closer look at the Old Goat ...

My second card features a Newly Released Digi Stamp.  It is sooo NEW that it doesn't even have a name yet, but goes by digi24244 which you can find HERE.

This guy is so FUN and I really enjoyed coloring him with my Copics.  Two copies of the image were printed, colored, and fussy cut out to create the 3D image.  I paired him with some Haunted Manor DP from Doodlebug Design, Want2Scrap Lacy Oval Black Bling, Felt Embellishments from Studio G, and the sheer Orange Ribbon from Ribbon Boutique.

Here's a closer look ...

Hop on over to the QKR Blog to check out the rest of the Design Team projects, then join in the FUN for a chance to win some QKR Digital Stamps.

Meljen's Challenge #132 & a Sponsorship ...

This is my second post today so please scroll down
for the Dare to Be Sassy Spooktacular Challenge

*******************************

Today is the start of Meljen's Designs Challenge #132.
This weeks challenge is all about "Missing You"

Meljen's Designs is the Sponsor for this weeks C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #177
Their Challenge this week is all about "Metal"

I created a card for both of the challenges.  I combined the Stars & Tags stamp with Thinking of You, printed 2-copies and colored one with Copic Markers, cut the tags apart to make it look 3D when I layered them over the other copy of the stamps that I distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  Once the layout of my cards was complete, I added Metal Stickers from Momenta to the corners.

Both of the Design Teams created some awesome projects to inspire you to play along with this weeks challenge.  Hop on over to Meljen's Challenge Blog and the C.R.A.F.T. Blog to see the projects, and to get all the details on how you can win some Meljen's Designs stamps.

I'll see you back here tomorrow to share a card created with a couple of the NEW Stamps being released by Meljen's Designs. I have to say I'm in LOVE with them so I'll be sharing pictures of the whole release with you!!!

Hiding ...

This is my second post today, so please scroll down
for my Tanner Bell Designs post.

******************************
I'm over on the QKR Stampede Blog today sharing this adorable card of a dog hiding behind a pumpkin.

This adorable stamp is called Hiding (12901), and he is available in Digital Format or Red Rubber.  I chose this image because the adorable dog reminds me of my grand-dog Winston Boxador Rebel.

The image was colored with Copic Markers in 2-parts ... the dog and then the pumpkin.  Each piece was fussy cut out and set aside.  Once I layered my Haunted Manor DP by Doodlebug Designs together, attached my ribbon, brads and star, I added my image.  I used 3D foam tape behind the dogs head and for the entire pumpkin to attach my image.

Here's a picture of Winston with his brother Bistro the cat ...

I really love this guy!

I hope my project inspires you to come and play in the QKR Stampede Challenge #9 ... Pumpkins Galore.  You still have plenty of time to join in the FUN for a chance to win some adorable QKR Digi Stamps.

I'd like to enter this card into Our Craft Lounge Challenge #138 ... Spooky & Sweet.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Scrapbooking with Tanner Bell Designs ...

Last week I announced that I'm a Designer for Tanner Bell Designs.  Tanner is a young man who sees his stamps being used for more than just creating cards. So here I am on a Tuesday morning sharing some pages I created for Katie's 2012 Album.  I have to admit that this project takes me outside of my comfort zone.  Fair warning ... I really am not a Scrapbooker.

You may, or may not, be aware that my daughter Katie is Moderate to Severally Cognitively Challenged.  She is 20-yrs old, and she brings us lots of joy at the same time she challenges us on a daily basis.  Last year Katie's school [SEDOL Transition Program] received a Grant to participate in a local Hippotherapy Program.  So Katie and several of her piers went to a local barn for Hippotherapy, and she had an awesome time.  Hippotherapy is an Equine Therapy Program for Disabled Children.

This was not Katie's first introduction to horses.  She visited a Hippotherapy Program a couple of times during High School.  The one time she got up on a horse she was terrified, and had to get off immediately.  Back then she preferred to just brush the horses down.

After meeting Stryker, my daughter-in-law Lauren's horse, Katie became more at ease with horses.  Hence her willingness to get on a horse and truly enjoy the experience.

Here is a closer look at each of the pages ...

I used Tanner's Chevron Grunge stamp to create the background for my layout.  As you can see I started with just adding the Chevron Grunge to the top and bottom of my page, and then as I was putting the second page together I realized how empty it looked.  HA!  So I used the stamp on the whole page. They are not a perfect match, but I know Katie will love it!

The Chevron is part of the Diamond/Chevron Grunge stamp set.

You can find these stamps in Tanner Bell Designs store here.

In closing of this post I wanted to share the said news that we lost Stryker in July this year to an unfortunate illness.  I wanted to share a picture of Katie, Lauren, and Stryker from April 14th this year.

Rest in peace Stryker and know that you were truly loved by all.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

*********************************

Hi there. I'm back to share another card I made for fun today.  This is for the current CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #74 ... Put your {heart} into it.

I have a lot of different heart stamps from various vendors, and I chose to use this one from the Unity Jan 2012 KOTM {Heart and Soul} stamp set.  I think the playing card is pretty cool.  I stamped five cards ... 3 with Festive Berries Distress Ink by Tim Holtz and 2 with Tuxedo Black Ink by Memento.  After cutting out my cards I punched a hole in the bottom left corner, connected the cards with a tiny red brad, fanned them out, and then used 3D foam tape to lift them up.  You can see the shadow created by the cards in my picture.  Once I adhered my hand to the card base I popped on some Want2Scrap Bling to finish it off.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Good evening.  There is a new Sketch Challenge in town and it's all about CAS design.  It is called CAS(E) this Sketch, and I just had to pull out some of my new stamps to play along.

This is the first of two cards I made today, and I am only submitting this one since I love it so much more than the second card.

The stamps used is a new set from Avocado Arts called Goble Until you Wobble. I really love the whole set but was drawn to this image for my card today.

Here is the CAS Sketch they provided for us to CAS(E) ...

Lovely Silhouette's ...

Good morning. I hope you had a marvelous weekend. Mine was kinda crazy so I'm very happy today is Monday. I'm hoping the week will go a lot smoother than my weekend did. ;D

To help get your week started I have a NEW Digi Makeover Challenge for you to play along with.

Here is what I created to share with you today!

The image is part of the Faith Hope Love Silhouette Digi Stamp set.  I changed the background to pink, cut it into 5 sections, and then pieced it back together on white cardstock.  I love the floral image and how it looks with the pink backdrop.

I would love to see how you would use a Silhouette Stamp, so why not get crafty and link up your new project at the Digi Makeover Challenge Blog. The only requirement is that you use a Digital Stamp on your project. You can find all of the requirements on the Blog, and while you are there you can see what the rest of the Design Team created and give a warm welcome to our newest Designer Carla.

My design for today's card is based on the Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #56.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
