... Merry Christmas ...

This is my 2nd post today, please scroll down for
my Dare to Be Sassy Thursday Challenge Project

******************************

This week we have a sketch for you to try over at Meljen's Designs for Challenge #138.

With Christmas around the corner I used the sketch to make a holiday card.

I just love the Cozy Winter Mindy stamp, and she was perfect for today's card.  After coloring her with Copics, White Jelly Roll Pen, and Stickles I cut her out with my Nestabilities Dies.  The background is from the Once Upon a Christmas DP by Little Yellow Bicycle.

Head on over to the Meljen's Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created, and then join in the FUN for a chance to win some Meljen's Designs Stamps.  Then come back tomorrow for the new Meljen's Designs Stamps Release.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... Have a Holly Jolly Christmas ...

Good morning.  November has come and is almost over, and Christmas is truly right around the corner.  Today's Dare to Be Sassy Thursday Challenge #153 is perfect for getting ready for Christmas.  This week we want to see your Christmas Projects, but NO cards.  Yup, we want to see anything but a card from you this week.

I created a Gift Tag / Ornament this week.

The tag / ornament is 4" x 4" in diameter.

Featuring the lovely Ellie the Elf who was colored with Copics, and fussy cut out.  The background was created using Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs Die and DCWV's Christmas Combo DP and Tradewinds Glittered DP.  The snow globe was created with Memory Box Design Adhesives and Rub on Foil, and Snowflake Dimensional Stickers.  Solids colors were used for the back, and 1/8" green ribbon was weaved thru the holes to create the hanger.

The sentiment is from Cas-ual Friday's Merry Kiss-mas stamp set.

I had a fun creating this project. Well to be truthful using the Doily Motifs Die was a PITA.  The DP didn't want to come out of the die ... it actually ripped so I started all over again.  After I was done with my project I heard that when you use intricate dies you need to add wax paper between the die and your paper.  It makes getting the cardstock out easier.  Haven't tried this yet, but I will next time.

For more inspirational projects head on over to the SSD Blog to check out what the other Designers created.  They will amaze you, as they did me when I saw them!!

Next week I'm going to be joining Regan over in our SSD Group at Paper Craft Planet for the Fabulous Freebie Friday Challenges, and you will have another awesome group of Designers providing inspiration for our weekly DTBST Challenges.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... Cozy & Warm! ...

Good morning!  Hope that you had a great Thanksgiving weekend, and you made it through Black Friday safely.  Now that Black Friday is over, it's time for Cyber Monday sales!  Me, I did all my Cyber purchases on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

It's not only Cyber Monday today, but it's also time for a new Love to Create Challenge.

Challenge #43

This week's Theme is Non-traditional Holiday Colors.

I chose to use these adorable Cozy Little Chickadees from Meljen's Designs.  Colored them with Copic Markers, applied distress ink around the edges, added stickles for the snow on the branches and layered it on my background.  Final step was to add the SRM Sticker sentiment.

I based my design on this old Clean & Simple sketch [FTL210] ...

I would love to see your "Non-traditional Holiday Colors" project this week.  All of the details for the Challenge can be found on the Love to Create Challenge Blog.  While you're there check out the amazing projects created by the other designers.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... Just saying hi! ...

This is my 3rd post today,
please scroll down to see my holiday cards.

*****************************

There is a NEW Challenge Blog and it's called Little Tangles, the Neat & Tangled Challenge Blog.  I have several Neat & Tangled Stamps so I thought I would give it a try. :o)

Since I was planning to send a note off to my friend Donna on the other side of town, I pulled out a 4bar Notecard to decorate.  I use one of the sentiments from "Just Hello" stamp set, and the sparkles / stars from "Elves at Work" stamp set.  Once I finished with my stamping I scored along the bottom of the sentiment and along the top.

Very CAS card, perfect for sending off a quick note to my friend.  Donna is one busy lady so I try not to call her to often, and tend to send off a note just to let her know I'm thinking of her.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

I won this lovely Merry Kiss-mas stamp set from CAS-ual Friday's Stamps, and I really wanted to use the set to create a card for CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #79 ~ Winter Blues

The challenge here was to create a Winter Blues themed card with stamps you would normally associate with greens and reds.  The answer was to only use sentiments.  My design is based on Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #62.  I inked up 2 of the sentiments from the set with Paris Dusk ink from Memento, add in some DP and shear ribbon, and it all came together nicely.

Here is the sketch for your reference ...

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... Holiday Wishes ...

Happy Black Friday!  Hope you had a great time with friends & family over Thanksgiving, and you got the BF Deals you were looking for.  Me, I stayed home and picked up some goodies on-line, and then played in my craft room this afternoon.  I made two holiday cards, and one friendship card.  So this is the first of three posts.

My design is based on the Unity KOTM November Sketch, and the Winter Blues Theme from CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #79.

Updated 11/28/12 to provide clarification on the background layer, snowflake, and twine.  They are all Navy Blue.  It may look black in the picture, but truly it is Navy Blue.

Unity KOTM October 2012 stamps were inked up with Memento Summer Sky & Paris Dusk ink.  After stamping the design on Neenah Solar White cardstock, I layered it on a Navy background, added the Snowflake Die and Navy Twine.

Here is the sketch ...

... DTBST Challenge #152 ...

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends.  I hope you have a marvelous day with family and friends, and if you're going out for Black Friday please stay safe.

This week's Dare to Be Sassy Thursday Challenge is all about material.  For Challenge #152 we want to see how you add Felt or Fabric to your projects.

I pulled out Samantha Sassy for today's project.  She was colored with Copic Markers, and I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen to give her the shimmery dress, shoes and earrings. My material is the rug Samantha is lounging on.  I used the Fleur de Lis Squares Die to create the frame for the distressed Create with TLC sentiment inside.  Next was to add the bouquet of love flowers from Lawn Fawn's Cruising Through Life stamp set.  I have this Mini Shopping Bag die and thought it would be perfect to put the flowers inside.

The rug was created by recycling some old curtains shown in the photo below with the products I used on top of the material.

I believe this is the first time I've altered material, and I truly like how it turned out.

Remember to head on over to the SSD Blog to see the projects created by the rest of the Design Team, and then join in the FUN!

I'm entering this card into the Marker Pop Challenge #11 which is Skin Tones.

The Joy of Giving Sassy Holiday Release ...

Sassy Studio Designs is celebrating "The Joy of Giving" Holiday Release

We are doing something a little different this month. No Blog Hop!  All of the SSD Designers created Vintage or Shabby Chic projects featuring the new Sassy Holiday Digital Stamps, and you can see all of the projects on the Sassy Studio Designs Blog.  Half of the Designers shared their creations yesterday, and the other half is sharing today.  So if you hopped over from the SSD Blog to see my card. Thank you! If you're just happened upon my blog today remember to head over to the SSD Blog to see what the other Designers created.  You don't want to miss their lovely creations.

Now for my card ... is it Vintage or Shabby Chic?  I really couldn't tell you which it is, but this is the image that popped in my head when I saw the lovely stamp called "The Greatest Gift".  So hear goes ...

After coloring "The Greatest Gift" with Copic Markers, she was fussy cut out and put on the side.  That was the easy part. :o)

I picked up the 3D Christmas Tree at Michael's last weekend in anticipation of using it for today's card. Next step was to choose DP.  Another easy part.  I layered everything together before attaching it to the base card and it looked like something was missing.   Then I remembered the window die I have. Since I already had one cut out in white I just altered the color with distress ink, and then pulled out the starry night DP from my scraps to put behind the window.  The window was the perfect add, so I went ahead and put the card together.

Here is a close up of "The Greatest Gift" ...

I hid her stomach a little bit behind the present.  She's a little shy! LOL!

Now we can't have a Release with out some PRIZES.  What are they you say?  Well two (2) random commenter's on the SSD Blog will receive a prize, and there is also a GRAND PRIZE.  So hop on over to the SSD Blog for all the details.

You can find "The Greatest Gift" and all of the other NEW Holiday Stamps in the SSD Store.

I am entering this card into the following challenges ...

Holiday Cards ...

Good evening and Happy Friday all!  Today I went into my craft room this afternoon to create just for me.  I need to work on my Christmas Cards for this year. The best way to work on them is to take on some Challenges.  So I created two (2) CAS cards for two (2) different challenges, and will be sharing both of them in this post. So here goes ...

*************************

I pulled out my Avocado Arts Very Merry Season stamp set for this card.

*************************

Winter Blues

No stamps were used on this card.  We have the Tree Line Die from Tim Holtz, and the Star of Wonder Die from Memory Box.  After using the Tree Line Die on white cardstock I used two different shades of blue distress ink on it, and a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen was used on the stars and I hand drew the rays surrounding the stars.

I hope everyone has a marvelous weekend!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Let it Snow ...

It's Friday and time for a new QKR Stampede Challenge.  As I said in yesterday's post I'm not ready for the change of Seasons, but living in Northern IL I know that it will be hear sooner rather than later. So this weeks Challenge is helping get me ready.

I used the adorable Caroling stamp and Let it Snow sentiment.  The images were colored with Copic Markers, even the background.  I added in the snow with a White Gelly Roll Pen, and some sparkle to the light rays with a Clear Star Pen.

Both of these stamps are available in red rubber and digital format in the QKR store.

Hop on over to the QKR Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created, and then add your Winter Wonderland Project to the linky for this weeks Challenge.

I hope you'll join us on Saturday for the QKR Stampede Blog Hop featuring Santa Clause!

Cute as a Button ...

This is my 2nd post today, so please scroll down
for the current Dare to Be Sassy Thursday Challenge.

*************************

~ Brown & Orange ~

The color combo for this weeks Challenge is perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday here in the US, but I decided to create a non-traditional baby card.

This cuddly guy is called Sleepy Time Bear.  He is so adorable and perfect for creating a baby card.  He was colored with Copic Markers, added highlights with a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen, colored the hearts & swirls with an Orange Spica Pen, and then distressed the bottom.

A very dear friend that is fighting stage 3 cancer recently gave me all of her stamping supplies (inks, stamps, ribbon, etc), and the sentiment I put on the inside is one of those stamps.

I love how this card turned out, the colors go so well together.  Hop on over to Meljen's Challenge Blog to see the inspiration provided by the rest of the Design Team, and then join in the fun for your chance to win some Meljen's Designs stamps.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

DTBST Challenge #151

Good morning!  It's so hard to believe that 1-wk from today is Thanksgiving.  This year is truly going by really fast. Sigh! I'm so not ready for Winter. :(

Enough of me complaining about the change of seasons. LOL!  It's time for a new Dare to Be Sassy Challenge.  Challenge #151 is "NO" Design Paper.

This is my first time coloring Marilyn, and I truly loved working with this image.  Her dress was a bit of a challenge, but I think it looks cool.  Normally I would be all over using NO DP, but I actually struggled this week. I kept looking at my DP, and wanted to add some.  So I added the blinged out swirls to represent the wind blowing Marilyn's dress!  I put Marilyn off-center to leave room for a sentiment later.

Head on over to the SSD Blog to see the projects created by the rest of the Design Team, and then join in the FUN!

Speaking of FUN! We started previewing snippets of  "The Joy of Giving" release that is happening this weekend.  Don't forget to leave your guesses on the previews for a chance to win these lovelies, and then join us this weekend for the full reveal!

Merry Christmas ...

The vision for this card popped into my head Monday night as I was laying down to go to sleep.  I couldn't bring myself to get up again after midnight to create it.  So as I'm falling asleep I promise myself I'll make it on Tuesday.

The vision came from seeing the CAS[E] this Sketch, the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #78, and the new Hero Arts Christmas Tree stamp set I picked up at Archiver's over the weekend.  Unfortunately, I missed the deadline for submitting the card for the CAS[E] this Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch I worked from ...

Luckily I still have time to submit this card for the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #78 ~ so torn.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Seasons Greetings ...

While going thru my e-mails last night I came across the Just Us Girls Challenge #162.  This week's Challenge is a Technique Challenge that I thought was pretty cool.  The challenge is to make a Ribbon Wreath, and they shared this link to a video tutorial.  I watched the video several times, and then gave it a try.  It took me three times before I was finally happy with how the wreath turned out.

After making the Ribbon Wreath I pulled out some DP and layered it on my cardstock, then used a Circle Nestabilities to cut the hole to create a window.  The Wreath was attached to my base with Score Tape, the red bow was attached with Mini Glue Dots, and then I added red bling to represent the berries.

On the inside I put candles to shine thru the center of the wreath.  Since I put the sentiment on the outside I left the inside with just the candles for now until I figure out what I want to put with them.

I truly enjoyed creating the wreath and I love how it turned out.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Santa's Workshop ...

Good morning.  I hope you all had a marvelous weekend.  Mine went by to fast, but Katie loves going to school so Monday's are a time for me to wind down and craft.  Speaking of crafting, it's time for a new Love to Create Challenge.  This week we have two (2) sponsor's ... Sassy Studio Designs and The Digi Garden.  Both of the sponsor's have such lovely images to work with.

Now for Challenge #41 we want to see some "Fancy Edges".

This week I chose to use the adorable Candy Cane Elf by The Digi Garden.  This guy is so cute, and I love creating my card with him.  He was colored with Copic Markers, Gelly Roll Clear Star Pen, and Stickles was applied to his hat and the top of the stocking.  The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled's Elves at Work stamp set.  My "Fancy Edge" is courtesy of EKS's Snowflake Punch and Nestabilities Scalloped Circle Die.

My design is based on The Craft's Meow November Sketch Challenge.

Make sure to join us for this weeks Challenge, and stop by the Blog to see the creations by our talented designers.

TE Calendar Challenge X's 4 ...

Yesterday I had an awesome time with my friends that came over to craft with me.  While they were here I had the chance to catch up on my Calendar's for the Taylored Expression Monthly Calendar Challenges.  I'm only sharing 4 of the Calendar's today, as I still have work to do on the November and December calendars, and I will have to get these finished soon as the whole set is a Christmas Gift.

So here goes ...

July features the fun Lunar Lights stamp set from Lawn Fawn, colored with Copic Markers, and added distress inks behind the lights.

August features the lighthouse from Paper Smooches Smoocheroos stamp set, and the hot air balloon - dragonfly & clouds from Avocado Arts Perfectly Perfect Day stamp set.  I created an island for the lighthouse, and added some waves along the shoreline.

For September I went with a school theme as by this time of year the children are back in school, so I used Paper Smooches Smarty Pants stamp set.

October features Denami Designs (haunted house) and Lawn Fawn's Happy Haunting stamp set.

Each of the calendars were layered on A Muse Studio cardstock, and The Twinery Twine was used to separate my scene from the calendar days using Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

The calendar is Taylored Expressions 6 x 6 2013 Digital set.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
