Let's Chat ...

Last Thursday I hopped thru the Your Next Stamp August New Release Blog Hop, and then popped over to the store and purchased a couple of items. I was pleasantly surprised to get my package yesterday, especially since it came all the way from Canada. So I had to get crafting with one of the stamps I bought to make another card for Your Next Stamp Challenge #3.

This lovely lady is called Aubrey from the Darling Diva Collection. Copic Markers were used to color Aubrey, I layered a couple pieces from the image ... the belt, bracelet, sunglasses, and the shopping bags ... and then added Glossy Accents to the glasses, cel phone, and her eyes.

I've already created a card for the YNS August Sketch so I decided to create today's card based on the YNS Inspirational Photo ...

I managed to use just about every color from the photo so I decided to take a picture of the Copic Markers that were used for coloring Aubrey ...

My layout was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketch #101 ...

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Sassy Studio Designs is Sponsoring this weeks {PIN]spirational Challenge #72.

When I saw the challenge was about Star Wars, I of course had to create a card using the lovely Sassy Leia. My color for Leia's clothes are technically not accurate, but I really love how she looks in light blue. For the background I went shopping at Archiver's and picked up Star Wars DP by Creative Imaginations. The sentiment is from Create with TLC Digital Goodness. My design for today's card is based on the Seems A Little Sketchy Challenge #46 (shown below), which I took a bit of creative liberty with.

Now for a look at the {PIN}spirational Photo ...

Make sure you pop over to the {PIN]spirational Blog for all of the details on how you can win some Sassy images of your own!

How tweet of you ...

Good morning. I'm over on the Stamp Annie*Thing Blog today sharing a Clean & Simple (CAS) card.

As I was going thru my stamps I noticed this adorable potted plant in the For Peeps Sake, and just had to make a card for the Clean & Simple Sketch #254. After coloring the potted plant with my Copic Markers, I cut out the circles, distressed the edges, and layered it on my design. I pulled out the sentiment from the Rare Bird stamp set, and added some gems to the edges.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Back to School Gift ...

Good morning! It's Monday and I have a NEW Love to Create Challenge to share with you this week.

We have a NEW Sponsor this week ... Simply Betty Stamps
Offering a $10.00 Gift Certificate!

I chose to work with this lovely girl called Teacher's Pet Betty Limited Digi. After coloring this lovely girl, I cut her out and put her on the side.

I decided to alter a standard Composition Book for my nieces birthday. I picked up two (2) 8-1/4" x 10" Decorative Duck Tape, which I applied to the front and back of the book. I pulled out an old set of stencils to make the school house, and then decorated it will SRM Border Stickers and old Creative Memories Stickers. ScorTape Sheets were used to adhere the house and Teacher's Pet Betty Limited Digi to the decorated book.

The cover needed something else so I added a fence, and the school year with Thicker numbers to the cover.

I recently saw instructions on how to add Elastic to books so I picked up some 3/8" Lightweight Clear Elastic and 3/16" Eyelets, and used my Crop-A-Dile to attach the Elastic to the book.

My nieces birthday was early this month, and she totally fell in LOVE with the book. First words our of her mouth was Duct Tape! LOL!

How about a closer look at Teacher's Pet Betty Limited Digi ...

The rest of the designers created some truly amazing projects this week so make sure you hop on over to the Love to Create Blog to check them out, and then I hope you share your Back to School Projects with us!

Roller Derby Contest ...

Good evening! I have some card to share with you for The Stamping Chef vs. Simply Betty Stamps Roller Derby Challenge! Both of the images I'm about to show you were FREE for 24-hrs last week, but you can still purchase them if you want to play along with the Challenge.

The first image is called Kitty Paw Vultura by The Stamping Chef, and the Challenge for this lovely is to use 1 Ribbon, 2 Buttons & 3 Different DP. This mean I messed up! LOL! I only added 1 Button. The Design Paper I used is from Heidi Swaps No Limit ... no drastic patterns but they are very subtle.

The second image is called Bonnie Skullbabe by Simply Betty Stamps, and the Challenge is to use Hot Pink, Lime Green & Black. I got lucky when I found the Key Lime cardstock in my stash, the Hot Pink is represented by my Copic Markers in her outfit since I couldn't find any matching cardstock in my stash.

I had fun coloring these ladies with my Copic Markers, and the creative process of putting these cards together.

The Challenge runs thru August 28th, and you can find all of the details here.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Good evening. I'm popping in to share a card I created for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge #62 ~ Clean & Simple.

My card features the lovely Glamour Girl by Marika Collins, which I colored with my Copic Markers and cut out. I added Glamour Girl to my embossed cardstock, layered on the card base, added the sentiment from Avocado Arts Grillin' and Chillin' stamp set, Want2Scrap Black Bling, and then applied Glossy Accents to her wine glass and eyes.

I truly had fun creating this card.

Sassy Studio Designs is Sponsoring this weeks C.R.A.F.T. Challenge ~ Sketch.

Sketches are one of my favorite types of Challenges, so this weeks Challenge is right up my alley, and I had to play along! I pulled out France Honey from the Small World Honey Collection 2, colored here with my Copic Markers, and cut her out. I matched her up with DP from Heidi Swapp, Memory Box Dies, and used a sentiment from Stamp Annie*Thing's Ooh La La stamp set.

Post-it-Note Holder Teacher Gift ...

Good morning. I saw this awesome Tutorial last week over on the MFT Blog for a Post-it-Note Holder, and just had to try my hand at it. Since I am in the process of making Teacher Gifts for an upcoming Craft Fair that benefits the Special Needs Students in my community I thought this would be an awesome addition to the products I'll be offering.

I created my own DP using the Rose from the Party in the USA stamp set, and coloring them with my Copic Markers. The "Thank You" sentiment is part of the One Cool Cat stamp set.

Here are several more photo's showing the Gift opened up ...

I have cardstock cut out and scored to make 4-more of these beauties, and plan to switch up the stamps I use so each is a one-of-a-kind product.

So Sorry ...

Good morning! It's Monday, it's Katie's first day of School, and I have a NEW Love to Create Challenge to share with you this week.

We have three (3) awesome Sponsors this week ...

I chose this adorable image called Don't be Sad by The Stamping Chef for today's challenge, and created a Shutter Card.

The little girl was colored with Copic Markers, cut out, and layered on my design that is based on Sketch n Stash Challenge #119.

The item from my stash that was used to create my card are the Nestabilities Labels One Dies. I found them when I cleaned my craft room this past week, along with many other dies that I haven't used in ages! It's like I hit the lottery. :D

The rest of the designers created some truly amazing Fancy Fold projects this week so make your you stop by the Love to Create Blog, and then I hope you share your Fancy Fold card with us!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Witch Mercedes ...

I recently joined the Simply B Stamps Fan Group on Facebook, and this is the first time that I'm playing along with Simply Betty Stamps New Facebook Fan Challenge using the awesome Witch Mercedes. I've had Witch Mercedes colored for a couple days now, and finally had some time to create with her. So here goes ...

Mercedes was colored with my trusty Copic Markers. I pulled out my Halloween paper from My Mind's Eye, Distress Inks, a couple of dies, bling and a SRM Halloween Sticker to create my card.

I used the same layers for the inside, and left room so that I can add a birthday sentiment inside. My brother-in-laws birthday is right around Halloween, and he always gets a Halloween card for his birthday. He truly loves Halloween so it is truly appropriate for him.

I truly enjoyed working with Witch Mercedes, and think I'm going to print up a cropped version to create with.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary ...

Good morning and Happy Friday to all. Yesterday I spent some time in the basement with my girl. As she watched some TV while playing I created an Anniversary card for the i{heart} Card Sketch Challenge #30 using the lovely True Love image by From the Heart Digital Stamps.

My 29th Anniversary is fast approaching and I knew that the beautiful True Love image was perfect to make a card for my husband. The sentiments on the front are StampArt Designs by Kathryne and its a set called Anniversary. The second sentiment is a little on the small size for the picture, but is so true for us. It says "Together we can do anything".

Card Pattern and Sketch 030

Now that the outside of the card is done, it is time that I stash it in my craft room until the Big Day next month!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Explore ...

Good morning! It's time for a NEW Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Challenge over in our Paper Craft Planet Group. If you played along with Challenge #3 then check your email for the Steampunk Amelia as our way of saying "Thank You" for participating in Challenge #3.

I had so much FUN creating my card with Steampunk Amelia. After coloring Amelia with my Copic Markers, I didn't like the colors I used for her boots, gloves, and her flight hat so I recolored each and then paper-pieced them over my original coloring. I pulled out my Heidi Swapp No Limits DP, which is perfect for Steampunk, and started distressing every section, then put it all together. Now you can't do Steampunk without Sprockets so I pulled out my Sprockets Border Die and cut off 2 for each side, and added some bling into the center.

My design for today's card is based on the YNS Fun Friday Challenge #3. I only used the Sketch for this one, but hope to combine the Sketch and Inspiration Photo for my next project.

I'm looking forward to seeing your creations for our Steampunk Theme Challenge! Make sure you head on over to the PCP Sassy Group for all the details about the Challenge, and how you can join in the FUN!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Have a Happy Birthday ...

Good morning. I have a Clean & Simple (CAS) card for you today.

Size: 3-1/2" x 5"

When I saw the Clean & Simple Sketch #253 over the weekend, I knew it was perfect for a sweet Birthday card. So I pulled out the FUN Wish Big stamp set from Stamp Annie*Thing to create my card. I tend to cut my photopolymer stamps to use only a portion of the stamps when the desire hits, and that is what I did for this card. The small present is part of the Wish Big sentiment stamp in the set, and since I wanted to use both present images I cut the sentiment out. It fit perfectly back together when I was done. I also separated the sentiment so I could place it on 2-lines.

The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and colored with my Copic Markers. Once I layered the pieces onto my card base I used a White Gelly Roll Pen to add white dots to the big presents and to the ribbon on the small presents, placed the sentiment in the corner, and then I added tiny gemstone to the bow.

How about a look at the sketch ...

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Just Cruisin by ...

Good morning! It's Monday, and I have a NEW Love to Create Challenge to share with you this week.

We have two (2) awesome Sponsors this week ...

I don't know if you've scene these new Sassy Studio Designs images that released last week in our 80's to the Max Blog Hop, but I knew I just had to work with these ladies! These Sassy girls are Daphne and Velma, and I couldn't resist making a Scooby Doo bus for them. This was done from scratch so it's not accurate.

The sentiments is a little hard to see in the pictures, but look really cool in person. It says "just cruisin by" on the outside, and "to say ... happy birthday ..." on the inside.

I left some room in the top section inside to add a personal message.

I sent this card to a friend who lives on the West Coast, and I'm hoping she loved it.

All of the designers created some awesome projects this week so make your you stop by the Love to Create Blog, and then I hope you share Color Inspired project with us!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Your Next Stamp Design Team Call ...

Your Next Stamp is currently holding a Design Team call for their brand NEW Digital Stamp Line. One of the requirements for the YNS Design Team call is to share three (3) of my best creations. Choosing only three was a struggle, as there are so many projects that I am proud of. So here goes ...

The first project features the lovely Red Hot Honey digital stamp from the Sassy Studio Designs Make A Wish Collection. I made a basket-weave card for Red, and also created a Basket Weaving Tutorial for the Sassy Studio Designs Group over at Paper Craft Planet that you can find here. My original post where this card is featured is located here.

My second project features the adorable Lulu digital stamp by StampArt Designs by Kathryne. After coloring Lulu, I scanned her in and mass-produced two (2) different cards, and they were all mailed to Operation Write Home. My original post featuring all of the cards can be seen here.

When I saw the YNS Design Team call, I went thru my stamps and found three (3) YNS stamps in my craft room. I decided to create my final project featuring the adorable Mini Shopper Fhiona, and the design is based on the current Reverse Confetti SFYTT Challenge #3. More details about the products used can be found in my original blog post here.

I love coloring with my Copic Markers, and I continue to apply what I learned in my Copic Certification Classes that I took this past June.

Wish me luck!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Ruza

Note: All of the Products used for each card shown above are located in my original post.

Seaside Escape ATC ...

Sassy Studio Designs is Sponsoring this weeks ATC's with Attitude ~ Just Relax.

For those of you new to ATC's ... ATC is the abbreviation for Artist Trading Card.
Artistic Trading Cards are 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" in size

I made a Seaside Escape ATC using the lovely Cocktail Sassy for my focal point.  Any time I think about Just Relaxing I think of the going to the beach. Er goes my design for today. My ATC is perfect for adding to your scrapbook. Now to find those Seaside photos ... I will probably pull out the Hawaii photo's from years ago.

Here's a sideview of the ATC ...

Make sure you pop over to the ATC's with Attitude for all of the details on how you can win some Sassy images of your own! Their designers are absolutely AMAZING so make sure you check out what they created!

Me + You = ...

I don't color many images of men so when I saw Kenny K's Facebook Challenge called "You Twighlight My Light" using Edward, which was free, I had to play along.

Now, I've never scene any of the Twighlight Movies so my coloring of Edward is just that. I pulled out my Neutral Copic Markers for his clothes and went to town, and I also tried out different colors for the skin-tone. The shading was created with distress inks. The sentiment is from Avocado Arts Perfect Blend stamp set, which I thought would be appropriate for the Kenny K Theme.

My design was inspired by the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #40.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

How tweet of you ...

Good morning. I have a Clean & Simple (CAS) card for you today.

Size: 3-1/2" x 5"

I pulled out the lovely Rare Bird stamp set by Stamp Annie*Thing for today's card. After stamping the birdhouse on Neenah Solar White cardstock, I colored the image with my Copic Markers, and then cut it out to paper-piece on the actual card. The sentiment in the set is perfect for thank you cards, and I know with school starting in 2-weeks I will be needing many of these. After adding the sentiment, I used a 0.3 Black Copic Multi-Liner and ruler to add the faux stitching around the card, and then stamped the birdhouse on the envelope.

This is one card that I plan on reproducing using different cardstock for the background.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
