Dancing Penguins ...

Good morning! I'm in holiday mode and sharing another holiday card featuring some of the Great Impressions Stamps.

I love making holiday cards with Penguins so when I saw the adorable Dancing Penguin (F592) I just had to play with this stamp. I stamped 3 of the penguins on a panel with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and then quite a few extra's on extra cardstock.

Copic Markers were used to color the penguins. For the scarves I colored the extra copies, fussy cut each layer out, and used my Xyron Sticker Maker to layer them on my colored panel. I also colored the lifted foot, fussy cut them out, and using various dimensional tape adhered the feet to the penguins. Distress ink was applied around the images. Next up was to layer the panel on a green and red panel, and then onto my cardbase.

For the inside of the card I recreated the panels, added the Happy Dance Sentiment (D488). After masking the sentiment, I stamped just the snowflakes from the Dancing Penguin (F592) around the sentiment, and applied distress ink around to the panel to match the front.

Be Amazing ...

Good afternoon. Popping in to share a NEW Magnet that I made with a sweet image I received last month from Paola (the artist) over at My Whimsical Little World's FB Page.

The image is called Be Amazing Whimsy Note. Unfortunately, I didn't find this one in the MWLM Store, but there are quite a few Whimsy Notes that you can choose from.

Copic Markers were used to color the image. Once done I applied Iced Spruce Distress Ink over the whole image, and the added White Pigment Ink to get a Bokeh Effect. I then laid the image onto matching cardstock, and adding strips of Xyron Magnet Tape to the back.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Magical Holiday ...

Good morning! As we all know the holidays will be here before you know it, and that means it's time to start making my holiday cards with some of the Great Impressions Stamps.

Today's card features the Magical Tree (H203) and Magical Holiday Sentiment (G389).

Using VersaMark Ink I stamped the Magical Tree (H203), embossed it with Winter Wonderland Embossing Powder, fussy cut it out, and put it on the side. I then stamped the Magical Holiday Sentiment (G389) with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, went over the snowflakes with a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen, and then used some Crystal Stickles to add snowflakes all around the sentiment.

The sentiment panel was layered on my cardbase with dimensional tape, and then I added the Magical Tree (H203).

Deck the Halls ...

Good morning! Ruza here to share a Holiday Card that I made for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

This is the 6th year for this amazing event! There are over 40 different companies that have donated some pretty amazing prizes, and I'm proud to say that CutCardStock in one of them.

Today's card features cardstock from the Flavours Gourmet Sample Pack along with the Basis Green cardstock and Classic Crest Solar White Cover cardstock.

My card features a Tiddly Inks stamp that I received for Free last year that came with a magazine I purchased, the sentiment (inside and out) comes from a stamp set I recently purchased, and I used a Musical Impression Plate and dies from my stash.

After coloring the image with my Copic Markers I fussy cut her out and put her on the side. I then cut out my Christmas Tree from Basis Green cardstock and the snow drifts from Classic Crest Solar White cardstock.

The cardbase is Smoked Sea Salt (Light Grey) with a Cabernet (Burgundy) panel, and a Myrtle Blueberry panel that I ran thru my Big Shot with my Musical Impression Plate.

I used dimensional tape and Scor-Tape to adhere the tree and snow drifts. Once layered together I applied Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle to create my snow, and set it aside to dry.

While that was drying I created the inside panel, and sentiment for the front of my card. Once done, all that was left to do was add the image and sentiment to the front of my card.

The Flavours Gourmet cardstock is 10% off as part of the Bountiful Saving Sale going on right now.

The Caring Hearts Card Drive is truly an amazing event that I hope you will take some time to read about, and hopefully send off some of your beautiful handmade cards.

My card features the Pumpkin Jack Stamp Set.  I printed 2 copies of the awesome pumpkin including the sentiment. After coloring the extra pumpkin with my Copic Markers, I fussy cut it out. Then I used my distress ink to create my night sky around the image and sentiment, applied Washi Tape for the pumpkin face, then layered the pumpkin with 3D Foam Tape. Once done I sprayed some AMS Stardust Finishing Spray, that I've had for some time, over the entire card.

Watercolor Fall Note Cards ...

Good morning! I have been creating Watercolor Note cards for a special lady, and decided to add some Fall cards to the collection, and these Great Impressions Stamps were perfect.

First up is the lovely Harvest Cart (H219) ...

Next up is the super FUN Happy Pumpkins (G383) ...

Using my Marvy Markers I applied ink to each of the stamps and stamped them on Watercolor Paper. Then I use a paintbrush and applied water to the stamped image. Once done with the outline of the image, I applied several different colors from my Marvy Markers collection on a palette and proceeded to color in the images.

Once I was done, I layered them with 3D Foam Tape onto my Papertry Ink Vintage Cream cardstock.

As you can see on the second card I signed and dated the card on the front. I will also do this with the first card. The person receiving them likes seeing my signature on the cards I watercolor.

If you haven't heard of Great Impressions Stamps make sure you hop on over to the Store to check them out. There are so many AWESOME stamps to play with, and all of the Accessories you need to create your projects with!!! I hope you'll check out our Monthly Challenge, and if you use Great Impressions Stamps make sure you also link up to our Customer Gallery.

The Hop to Stop, Take 2 ...

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and I created another card for The Hop to Stop. This hop is designed to raise awareness about Domestic Violence, which is an issue that impacts 1 in 4 women.

My card features the Rainbow of Ribbons Stamp Set from MHK Designs, one of the Hop Sponsors. To create my card I started by opening a Word document and pulling in the clear ribbon from the stamp set, adjusted it to size the I wanted, then copied and pasted the ribbon to create my background, added the sentiment to the page and hit print. I colored each of the ribbons with my Copic Markers and cut down my background to size, and layered it on my cardbase. Once the sentiment was cut down I applied distress ink around the edges and popped it on my card with 3D foam squares, and then added the enamel dots.

Let's check out all of the amazing Sponsor's participating to help bring awareness about Domestic Violence

For more information about Domestic Violence, its impact, and available resources, visit the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence.

Make sure you head on over to our Hostess' Blog for all of the information on how YOU can participate in The Hop to Stopand qualify for one of the Super Sponsor Prizes!

Combination Thank You Gift Card Holder ...

Good morning. Today I'm sharing a Thank You Card Gift Card Holder featuring cardstock from the Flavours Gourmet Sample Pack along with the Sheer Organza (Nylon) 5/8" Navy Ribbon, and dies from my stash over at CutCardStock.

I used to make dozens of cards to thank the staff who worked with my daughter, and always included a Gift Card with those cards. So even though my kids are done with school I decided to make a combination Thank You Card / Gift Card Holder in honor of all of those amazing teachers.

As you can see from the pictures below, my sides are not equal in size or design. This was really done intentionally believe it or not. The base was created with Candied Blue Violet (Navy) cardstock, and the panels were created with Carmelized Mustard cardstock.

Once I added the panels to the sides, I used a ruler and my blade to trim the sides, and then cut off the extra from the top. Slits were made on each side of the card so that I could slide the Sheer Organza (Nylon) 5/8" Navy Ribbon thru, and then placed Chestnut Creme (Tan) cardstock over the ribbon with a strip of Carmelized Mustard cardstock to match the cover.

The apples are made with dies from my stash utilizing the Chili Arbol (Red) cardstock, and Chestnut Creme (Tan) cardstock for the stems which I applied distress ink to add color. I used embossing folders to add texture to the apples, and used a Sakura Glaze White (Opaque) Pen on one of the apples. One apple was applied to each of the panels. The third apple was added to the top of the gift card panel with a 3D foam square to pop it up for sliding in the center of the panels.

Distress ink was applied with a dauble to add a bit of pattern to the card. A removable glue dot was added to the corner of the left panel to hold the panels together while I tie off the ribbon and slide in the gift card panel.

Now the gift giver can either write a thank you note inside the card and panels, or they can write their note on the back of the gift card holder tag. (Note: I added a layer of white cardstock behind the blue panel.)

The sentiment was cut from Candied Blue Violet (Navy) cardstock.

The Flavours Gourmet cardstock is 10% off as part of the Bountiful Saving Sale going on right now.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
