Graduation Cap Plus More ...

Good morning! Today is a 3-fer kinda day.

Happy Easter to all of you.
May your day be blessed as you celebrate with friends and family.

April 1st is also April Fools Day.
Hopefully, if someone says April Fools to you the prank/trick was sweet.

Speaking of April Fools Day. It's time for a NEW Scor-Pal Challenge. I have a LOT of pictures to share with you today, so I hope you stick around to see my entire post. This is not a prank, but check out the theme for this months challenge.

My great nephew is graduating from High School this year and his Grandmother, my older sister, asked me to make something special for him. I searched thru Pinterest to find something that would stand out. I saw a LOT of awesome ideas, but I wanted to include a surprise element. One of my friends recently shared a project with a drawer built into a bench. This got me thinking!

The photo above looks like a Graduation Cap, but there is so much more to it.

The top part of the Graduation Cap is actually a card that I decorated with Paper Studios Graduation Stickers. The tassle was made out of Red Doily Thread that I glued under the black button. That is not the big surprise. 🎁

Let's go backwards for a minute. This gift is going to a "young man" so it needs to be sturdy. That being the case, I made the base/box of my Graduation Surprise out of 6"x6" Black Chipboard. I left one side open so that I could add the surprise. I meantioned a drawer earlier in my post. See those knobs above. They are not really attached to a box. Let me show you.

I made a Graduation Album to fit inside my Graduation Cap Card/Box. I've never designed my own project from start to finish before, and this was so much FUN. I incorporated elements from different designer friends, but today's project is truly my own.

The cover and back of the album are plain because I put it inside my Graduation Cap Card/Box. Now let's have a look inside.

I made the album using 6"x6" Black Chipboard, Black and Red Artisian Cardstock, along with Authentique Accolade 6"x6" Pad, the stickers and cards from the Authentique Accolade Paper Collection, Basic Grey Large Magnets, my Scor-Pal Eighths plus TONS of Scor-Tape. That little Metal Tassele in the center I picked up at Hobby Lobby in the Jewelry Section. It came in a set of 3, so I can make more of these.

The left side of the album has several flaps. They open from left to right, and up and down. There is room to add 5"x5"photos, and also do some journalling.

The right side is a waterfall. There is room for 3"x5" photos and journalling.

I used my Scor-Pal Eighths Board for scoring all of my cardstock to put the album together. As stated above, a LOT of Scor-Tape was used in creating this album; 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 1".

I hope you stop by for more information about this months Scor-Pal Challenge #47, see what the other designers created to inspire you, and join in the FUN.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
