Good morning! We are heading towards another day of 90+ temps today. I love the warm weather and plan on sitting on the patio for a bit this morning. During the hottest part of the day yesterday I went into the basement and got a little crafty. This week over at CAS-ual Friday's (#57) their challenge is called "Clear as Day" and they want you to use acetate or vellum.
I chose to use vellum for my card. The flowers were stamped with Orange Ink from A Muse Studio onto Sugar cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on Vellum from Paper Studio's several times using various inks. I settled on Versafine Black because it provided a crisp clean look, that was until it dried completely (more on that later). I put the vellum overlay on top of my design, used my Crop-a-Dile to add orange eyelets in each corner, threaded Denim Twine from The Twinery thru the holes and tied a bow, trimmed the vellum down to size and then attached the design to the basecard.
About an hour after I finished the card, and took my picture, the sentiment no longer looks like it does in the picture. The sentiment looks blurry now. I don't know why this happened. I really did stamp the sentiment with various inks and the Versafine looked the best. Grrr! I'm wondering if I should have heat set it. ??? I will have to try again because I really love how this card turned out. Change out the sentiment and you have a lovely set of cards.
I would really love to hear your thoughts about the issue I had with the sentiment. I am open to all suggestions as I really want to make a set of cards with this design.
Until next time ... Enjoy!
