Core Cards Creative Frenzy ...

This evening I come to you with cards I created for the Core-dinations Card Designer Design Team Call.  This post is on the long side, so please be patient with me. ;o)

Before I starting creating my cards I literally pulled out all the embellishments I have and laid them out on my craft table.  LOL!  It was a little daunting to decide which direction to go, but here goes.

The first items I chose for this card was the butterfly and bling.  I layed the items both vertically and diagonally on my card before deciding on the direction.  The flowers were white to start, which I colored with Distress Ink {see photo below}.  I don't know if you can see the embossing on the Core-Impressions DP, but there are some circles that haves inner circles like the one in the upper left hand corner near the edge.  I used these inner circles for my flowers by using a 1/18" punch and then attached the flowers with the yellow brads {note: the bling was added to the cardstock before attaching the flowers}.  After adhering the cardstock to my card I added the butterfly.  The sentiment is from SRM and was layered on scrap cardstock, trimmed to create the flag, distressed with the same ink as the flowers, added one of the flowers and used 3D Foam Squares to attach to my design.

Here is a picture of the flower before and after I added the Distress Ink with my dauber.

Just a Note was created with DeNami Navy Cardstock, Core Impressions Basic Grey Whimsy Collection, Butterfly from Random Stand Out ~ Wheels/Stickers, Want 2Scrap Build Your Own Bling 2, A Muse Studio Forget-me-nots White Paper Flowers, SRM #51006 Thinking of You Sticker Sentiments, Paper Studio Tiny Yellow Brads, Scissors, Faded Jeans Distress Ink by Tim Holtz, Dauber, 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives, and my trusty ATG.

Now this card is different from what you normally see from me, but it was so much FUN to make!  The teacup was the jumping point for my design.  I created the tag for my teacup using the purple from the cup, green from the background using a variety of products.  The DP I chose just makes this tag jump off the page with the doily and bling behind it.

Teacup Blank Card was created with a Pink Card from Halcraft Pastel Color Card Value Pack, Uncommon DP by Authentique, Bazzill Purple cardstock [scrap], Teacup from Details Honeysuckle Embellishment by American Crafts, Green Ribbon from a Ribbon Swap [brand unknown], Lace on a Roll by Recollections, 4" Baking Essentials Doily, Crafty Power Tape & 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives, Ruler & Scissors, EKS Heavy Duty Vertical Slot Punch, and my trusty ATG. [card size: 5-1/2" x 4"]

My final card was designed around the "Dream Big" Title. I made my first ever flower from some lovely ribbon I won, and the leaves under my flower were cut by hand {see photos below}.  The base card is a light green with vanilla layered on top.  I wanted to add something behind the title and flower so I pulled out my Holly Vine Die, applied Mini Glue Dots to the lower part of the Vine so the Vine would be loose at the top, and then I added the title and flower with a combination of 3D Foam Squares and Pop-Up Glue Dots.  Final piece were the pearls.

The ribbon was made with Emma's Paperie Ribbon that I won a couple months ago.  To start the flower I used some tape on the end of the ribbon, and I added mini glue dots as I went around to keep the shape.  Once the flower was the size I liked, I cut the ribbon and applied Liquid Glue to the bottom of the flower for extra support.

The leaves were cut from this Green Mesh Ribbon from Maya Road that I had left over from another project.

Dream Big Card was created with a Light Green Card from Halcraft Pastel Color Card Value Pack, Vanilla Cream Premium Textured cardstock from Core-dinations, Scrap DP was used for the Holly Vine, Lost & Found Two Breeze Dream Title by My Mind's Eye, Cream Decorative Ribbon from Emma's Paperie, Green Mesh Ribbon from Maya Road, Holly Vine Die by Memory Box, Green Pearls by Hero Arts, Crafty Power Tape & 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives, Scissors, Mini & PopUp Glue Dots, Mono Aqua Liquid Glue by Tombow, and my trusty ATG. [card size: 5-1/2" x 4"]

Thank you for sticking with me for this long post.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

You've been a busy bee! Love how you've colored up the butterfly, love how you've used a tag and doily in the second and the CAS design in the third is fantastic.
