Mother's Day Gift ...

Good morning! If you follow my blog you know that I've been working on the landscaping in front of my house. I got most of it done before the rains came. Still need to pick up some more perennials and trim the tree. That work will have to wait until sometime next week when the rains end.

The title of my post bring me to this weeks QKR Stampede Challenge.

(create a card or project for Mother's Day)

Instead of making a card for Mother's Day, I made a Card Wrapper. The front of the Card Wrapper features the Rose Border (digi15411) by QKR Stampede. I actually colored two copies of the Rose Border ... one in red and one in pink. I decided to use the pink Rose Border for my packaging. After printing and cutting out the Card Wrapper template, I distressed the edges, added some bling to the cover and popped on my Rose Border.

My husband asked me what we were giving his mom for Mother's Day and her Birthday, which always fall within the same week. I drew a blank. See, my MIL doesn't want us to spend money on her. She doesn't want any gifts. However, I love to surprise her with little gifts to show her how much we appreciate her.

I picked the Rose Border specifically for mom, and was planning to make a card. Since I already have quite a few Mother's Day cards in my craft room, I decided to make a gift instead.

What does my Card Wrapper have inside? Birthday cards. Back in January I went to a card making event at Archiver's with one of my best friends. We made a dozen birthday cards in the class, 4 different designs ... 3 of each design using different colors. Mom can always use birthday cards for all of the kids and grandchildren. This way she won't have to go out and buy any cards for a bit.

Here is a side view of the Card Wrapper ...

The Rose Border is available in both red rubber and digital format in the QKR Store.

I'm sure all you crafty friends are preparing for Mother's Day so make sure you share your creations with us over at the QKR Blog this week.

I'm submitting today's project to the following challenges ...

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #180 ~ Color Splash, Black/White/Magenta

Now I'm off to Archiver's to create one of those Heidi Swapp albums with my best friend.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
