Serenity ...

Good afternoon. We had our first overnight freeze this past week in Northern Illinois. I am so not ready for this colder weather. To take my mind off the coldness I created this scenic card using  Rubbernecker Stamps.

My card features the Open Range stamp set (1026). This is a 2-part stamp set; the mountains and ground cover is separate from the trees. In order to get the variety of colors on the base stamp I used a dauber to apply Tim Holtz Distress Inks and stamped it on RN Watercolor Paper. I repeated this step because I wanted a deep rich color, then applied water with my brush and let the panel dry a bit. I then stamped the trees with Archival Jet Black Ink.

Tim Holtz Distress Inks were put onto my palette. I then used a paint brush and water to create the water and sky background. Once I was done, I cut the panel out using one of the RN Nested Rectangle Stitched Dies (5507D). I cut out two additional panels and applied distress ink around the edges, layered all of the pieces on my gray cardstock, and added the enamel dots in the corner.

If I had this view out of my window every day, it would be so beautiful and calming that I wouldn't mind the colder weather.

The Rubbernecker Stamps Autumn Glitz Challenge (#22) is live. Hop on over for all of the details, and then join in the FUN for a chance to WIN an amazing prize!

Until next time ... Enjoy!
