Good morning! It's the start of a new month, and that means we have a NEW Challenge starting today at the Scor-Pal Blog.
This past Sunday I shared a set of Wine Coasters that I made for a friend of mine. I needed a custom size box to put them in so this months Challenge was the perfect time to get creative.
I measured the size of the Wine Coasters stacked together, and came up with 4" x 4" x 5/8" high, so I drew the following diagram.
I cut a 12" x 12" piece of Red Cardstock down to 10-3/4" x 5-3/4", scored (as noted above), and burnished the score lines.
I then cut, and mitered the corners as shown in the first photo above on the left. Before adding the 1/2" Scor-Tape to the corners I cut out a window using a square die (center photo). I turned my packaging over and added 1/2" Scor-Tape around the inside of the window (right photo above). This allowed me to add Clear Cardstock over the window. Next I removed the Scor-Tape and put my box together. Once the box was complete I made a band to go around it, stamped my sentiment, and adhered the wreath.
Here are some more pictures of my packaging ... open and closed. The black you see in the window is the felt I put on the back of each of the Wine Coasters. I think it makes the packaging POP!
I hope you stop by for more information about this months Scor-Pal More than One Score Challenge #43 ~ Special Gift Packaging, see what the other designers created to inspire you, and join in the FUN.
